i found jason todd interesting in the countdown, so i decided to read more stories with him. i decided to pick up under the hood 1 and 2, which were really entertaining, but was wondering if there were any other trades after these that continued the story. it looks like the ending of the story went directly to the infinate crisis, and the books after this event don't include any red hood references. So, if there isn't any graphic novels that continue his revival, could someone tell me how he went from critically injured in batman's arm (from single issues), at the end of under the hood 2 to becoming a main character in countdown. thanks for any input.

Mind if I asking a q on this subject? What issues made up the "Under The Hood" storyline?
Thanks

The only other thing I could tell you to pick up would be Nightwing when he appeared AS Nightwing. The problem is...the story was atrocious and should never be read by another person in this or any other lifetime.
There was a single issue of Teen Titans (29 maybe?) where Jason Todd breaks into Titans Tower and beats the piss out of Robin.
He appeared in a few issues of Green Arrow. Think around issue 70 or so
That's all I can think of really.

The first goes from Batman 635-641, the second goes from 645-650 with the Batman Annual included in it.

The aforementioned Nightwing stories (which are, I believe, his next appearances in continuity) are collected in the Nightwing: Brothers in Blood trade. But as 4th Horseman indicated, most fans loathed it, so pick it up at your own risk.

The aforementioned Green Arrow stories are collected in the Green Arrow: Road to Jericho trade. At least these have the advantage of being written by the same person who wrote the Under the Hood stories.

It's never been explained how he survived at the end of Batman #650 and probably never will be.
I think most people think that he was somehow healed by Infinite Crisis or some nonsense like that.

I've heard that before, but I'm not sure it's true. Could you please verify this, with specific issue numbers, please?

Outsiders #44, Captain. He might have had a brief appearence in the issues immediately before or after that as well, but I don't have the books with me to check. Here's a scan (http://comicsmedia.ign.com/comics/image/article/753/753690/outsiders-20070108035127946.jpg) or two (http://comicsmedia.ign.com/comics/image/article/753/753690/outsiders-20070108035129774.jpg).

Thanks! #44-46 was evidently an arc, so perhaps in the next two as well? Did Jason play a very big role here? Was the story any good?

I just dug out the issues and it seems I only bought the next book (#45, Jason is indeed in that one) and failed to collect the rest of the storyline for some reason. I don’t think Jason did play a very large role, he just passed on some information to Dick and then (after the traditional 'every time we meet we must trade a few blows' fight) buggered off. He came across as a fairly superfluous addition to the story, but the scenes he was in were fun, so I can’t really complain. I obviously cannot really comment on the quality of the overall arc since I didn’t finish it, sorry. I did like the art though, but then I'm a fan of the more cartoony style, I know it's not everyone's cup of tea.
Can someone else (who isn’t so scatterbrained) give their opinion on the story? I really should pick up that last issue, I can't imagine why I forgot to when it intially came out.

Does anyone know why he is calling himself the Red Hood? Is it supposed to be some kind of homage to the Joker? Wasn't he the original one or something? Wouldn't it not make sense if this story in Confidential is canon and doesn't feature a Red Hood?

I think it's because it was Joker's old gig. Because Joker killed him....before Superboy Prime punched real hard and un-killed him.

Right, but what I'm saying is that the whole Red Hood thing will probably be retconned by this new story in Confidential and it won't make sense who it's an homage to.
Still, why would he dress up like the man who killed him?

Yes, Teen Titans #29.....I'd definitely suggest this to the thread starter. Very fun issue to read.

Which wouldn't/didn't work at all.

He also shouldn't have been able to get into the Joker's head in that scene where he had Joker tied up, but I'd put that under "awesome writing" as well.
