It seems to me that if you're selling a one of these on eBay, posting the entire thing for everyone to read and copy for themselves would hurt business. Not so, the current high bid for this one piece of paper is $127.50. If you want to send me $127.50 for posting this, PM me. I won't object.

Babe actually was full-sized. The lady in the picture was dressed as Giganta from the Legion of Doom.

Hmm, it would've been better if it was an in-continuity story. Like a one page chapter from issue #59(Burning Questions).

It seems crazy, but maybe people want it for their collections, or for the autographs, or . . . who knows what, to frame and put on their wall. Also, items with pictures always sell better than items without.

I think it's cool to see that, like a Sunday morning cartoon strip, Fables can be concise and entertaining. It also has the flavour of the convention, particularly being devoid of colour. To each his own I suppose, but I think it's pretty cool . . . but not 128 bucks cool. ;)

Also, it's the same panel duplicated 6 times with a slight variation in the last.

I mean, it's funny, but slightly underwhelming.

How much did it end up selling for?

It sold for the $127.50 it was at when I read about it.

That's absurd. I could print that out and sell it on eBay and probably make a ton of money, claiming that I got it in San Diego.

Well it's not like they had to give anybody anything, or that they made any money off it.

But then it may have alienated the majority of the readership who weren't there.
Instead it's a cool little memento for those who were.
(well for those who aren't cheap bastards who can't take a git in the spirit it's given).

Thanks for sharing it DonC, but it's shame you had to.
Imagine a world where people are given a gift, and kept it as a gift.

(well for those who aren't cheap bastards who can't take a git in the spirit it's given). Why would it alienate readers? We all would've seen at least a scan of it. But you're right it was meant to be in the spirit of the convention.

Imagine a world where people are given a gift, and kept it as a gift.Oh c'mon this was given out to a convention of people. How personal can this gift be? I'm glad we have a scan of this and didn't miss out on a unique piece of Fables.

Well, read what Bill Willingham said when it was given out, CBR covered in the con reports.

I wish we never saw it, and that those who got given it had accepted it in the spirit it was given.
That said, once one sad bastard sold it, Don did the right thing to cut down it's worth.

But Willingham had to know the Internet would never allow the page to stay secret.

My main reason for posting it was that I thought people would like to read it. I'm with Ron, Willingham had to know it would be out there hours after the con ended. Which is why I was surprised it sold for so much money. And that page wasn't even CGC graded. ;)

What's more, Willingham actually said on his www.fabletown.com forum that he's going to get a scan of the page put up soon.
