Every other character seems to get threads like this so I figured it is time for this nobody to shine. Anyway I am interested in hearing thoughts on any of these incarnations and where you would take the character if you could.
I'm going with the Death version cus those thing on his forehead looked weirder and weirder as time progressed. Plus I thought the red went well with the white as Death. Maybe I was mistaken, but I always thought the red was molded as part of Calibans body and not an actual costume. I think it would be neat seeing Caliban with a collar around his neck and being sort of like a pet slave to Callisto.
1 Weak Caliban that had the hots for Kitty.

2 Caliban Death version

3 The Savage Hulk version of Caliban.

4 Current Caliban- Has some brains and some strength, but has humongous growths over his eyes.

# 3 is a good balance of all of them.

ONE! Most distinct design. Though I was tempted to vote 3 because you posted the cover of Risque's chase through Wacky World. :)

I said 3. I actually enjoyed that whole X-force run, Sam graduating to the X-men and the Skroce art. Excellent.
Picked 3 because overall he was the most enjoyable to read, but 1 is a classic, 2 has the best outfit and 4 is an interesting throwback combining his first appearance with the later ones.

Can someone explain to me how Caliban went from big and muscular when walking into the sewers with Leech. Gets attacked. Then he becomes weak looking like he is in picture #4.

Masque used his powers on him. Although from what was said i gather he has some sort of secondary mutation. Makes sense given that Caliban should only have changed shape, not gotten weaker if Masque power worked as it used to.

Oh ok. I thought Masque just deformed people with his current powers. I didn't see Caliban as "deformed" especially after what Masque did to Leech at the end of #487 (i think that was the issue)

I like #3 because I'm also a fan of the Pollina X-Force run (except for the fact that he drew Cable as too young and pretty looking, as opposed to the grizzled old soldier he's supposed to be).
Caliban was Apocalypse's Hellhound, not Death.

in the cartoon he was his Hellhound, in the comics he was Death

I'm surprised how evenly torn the comic community is about this. :D

I am thinking Caliban is just a horrid character...
He just bugs the crap out of me.
He's Maggot of the new millenium.

Actually Maggot was the Caliban of the new millennium. I think one of the cool things about Caliban is they can blame any new powers or appearances he may gain by Apocalypse messing with his biology. Caliban is still metamorphisizing into the ultimate Apocalypse warrior.

Had to be number three for me, liked the whole run of X-force when pollina was doing the art,....Caliban was as someone else has already mentioned a good mix of the first two.

Definitely 3. i never really liked ol cally, and i definitely wasn't crazy about post AOA X-Force at first. But Caliban's gentle demeanor despite his big big self grew on me. He felt cuddly back then. Now he feels a lil gross and skeezy :)

I voted 3.
2 has the best outfit and 4
I want him to go back to that look.

It's sad that #3 is winning. Horseman Caliban was a great development for the guy. Here he was, the pathetic little guy, beaten, mocked, ignored, living in the sewers, and Apocalypse offers to make him smart and strong, and offers him revenge on everyone who ever wronged him. Who wouldn't have taken him up on that offer? Caliban was an example of a guy becoming a villain that WORKED.
And then Lobe took his brains away and turned him into X-Force's big dumb strong teddybear torn between his two surrogate fathers, Cable and Apocalypse. And now he's all scrawny and weak again, but at least he might be joining the X-Men, and we can live in hope that in doing so he will make Cable proud, and that one day he will win Kitty away from Colossus and they will get married like they should have back in the day.

I liked Caliban in the red X-Factor uniform with the silver mask the best. He looked cool. I wish I could find a pic though (it was in X-Factor 22 or 23 or 24 or something).

#1. I liked the original the best and wished he stayed more in the vein (even if he was a bit creepy...but at least it was different!)

Agreeing with KittyPryde. I much preferred the original Caliban, and felt that the Death version seemed unnecessary (let's give him super strength and invulnerability like so many other heroes), and the personality overhaul he was given was such a complete 180 from how he'd always been written up to that point (even by Louise Simonson, who, IIRC was the one who had him transformed into Death).
I don't know. I suppose her arc leading up to his transformation was okay (though, IIRC- didn't he leave one of the X-Factor members to die so that he could go and offer his services to Apocalypse? Which was a pretty striking OOC moment), and there is certainly precedent for Poccy "adding" in some additional behavior modification during his transformation process, but I just didn't like the way Caliban was subsequently written.
Much prefer the original look and personality.

Caliban was Apocalypse's Hellhound, not Death.
He was his Hellhound to begin with, but was later made "Death".

I picked 1, but I also love 2 and 3. 1 is my favorite, because I LOVE the morlocks! There's just something awesomely cool about a group of mutants living in the sewers underneath Manhattan!
I love #2, because of that annual of Uncanny, where he kidnaps, I believe it was Jubilee, and Kitty Pryde and Sabretooth go searching for him. Awesome story!
And #3, because that was my second favorite period of X-Force, right after Nic's long run on the title!
