I've been thinking of picking this up:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1582408149/ref=ord_cart_shr/102-1155704-8921713?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance

But there are no reviews yet. I don't know much about Kirby's Pacific comics work but I hear Capt Victory is a another crazy cosmic romp like New Gods (which I enjoyed a lot) and Eternals (sort of meh).

Any comments?

I enjoyed Captain Victory. It's full of the usual wild energy and high concepts that most Kirby projects have. I don't think its as good as New Gods, but New Gods is my favourite comic series of all time, so its tough competition. Also, Kirby's artwork isn't as good as his NG's work, but its still miles ahead of most artists.

If you're a Kirby fan, I'd recommend checking it out. I'd also suggest Silver Star, which has just been collected by Image and was published at the same time. Image put together a good package on Silver Star, so I'm hoping this will carry over to Captain Victory as well.

How was Kirby's Capt Victory?

Tasty. :D

What else do you need to know when Kirby's name is involved?

Of all of Kirby's comics, this for me ranks high. And I'm a longtime Kirby FF, Kamandi, 2001/Machine Man fan.

It got outrageous, laugh-out loud on purpose funny; sometimes it got amazing, with provoking questions (ok, this was less often than it was funny); I really think this is a good buy if you don't have the PC issues.

Now silver star never attracted me... so there you are.
