Every year, Turner Classic Movies does this REALLY awesome thing where they devote a whole month to showing classic films starring a differnent legendary actor/actress every day.
The coolest thing is that you are almost guaranteed to
A. Get a classic film each day
and
B. Get a rare classic film, because to fill a whole day, you need to go to some more obscure films, too
I already missed the first day (today), which was Elizabeth Taylor.
But here is the lineup for the next week!!:
Peter O'Toole - 8/2
Joan Crawford - 8/3
William Holden - 8/4
James Stewart - 8/5
Robert Mitchum - 8/6
Jane Russell - 8/7
Dana Andrews - 8/8
Myrna Loy - 8/9
How can you NOT take advantage of this?!!?

Wow... I just... don't care. I thought that I would too, I'm not just being snarky when I say that, but yeah... I guess I'm not as much of a movie buff as I thought I was, given that now that I think about it... I don't know if I've seen more than 10 movies that were made before 1970.

This, then, is a great opportunity to see what you're missing out on! These are some of the biggest stars in Hollywood's existence - so you can see their greatest films!
This Saturday, for instance, has Stalag 17 followed by Bridge on the River Kwai. I recommend you give either film a shot (I prefer the former, but the latter is excellent, as well).
Sunday brings even MORE classics, with Jimmy Stewart's day.
Romantic Comedy you want? Then how about The Shop Around the Corner - You've Got Mail, only good.
Western/Drama? The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, which has the classic line - "When the legend becomes fact, print the legend."
That night has the idealistic masterpiece, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, followed by the legal drama, Anatomy of a Murder.
So many classic films!!

Peter O'Toole - 8/2
SOLD!!!
The Blonde Lion roars again!
Actually, you know who I'd love to see a marathon of movies of?
Douglas Fairbanks Sr.
That guy... is who movies were made for.

I believe they included Fairbanks before.
This year is the FIRST time they've included Errol Flynn, in FIVE years of doing it!!!

I've seen Bridge Over River Kwai and quite enjoyed it, but my current movie-watching time is limited to whenever my daughter happens to be asleep. She's napping right now, in fact.

Totally fair enough. If you ever have time to watch films this month, just flip on TCM (preferably on the even hours, like 2pm, 4pm, 6pm, etc.), and see what they have to offer - I bet the odds are pretty good you'll catch a good film (especially during the 6pm/8pm/10pm time slots).

Definitely. I'm currently insomniacal right now, so I might turn it on in about half an hour and see what's on.
