I agree with Brian Moranor.
Warpath's attraction to Hepzibah seemed a lot more obvious in the previous arc. I'm glad Brubaker is 'down-playing' it a little on their relationship, and paying a little bit more attention to the build of a friendship between the two, where they explore each other's personalities. To me, the longer they stall a 'more-than'-friendship, the better.
And I'm using quotation marks because a friendship can be as deep as a romantic relationship, in its way.

Corsair is buried, but she didn't bury it, didn't she? She didn't even shed a tear for him...
Please, tell me you're joking! It is so obvious they're aiming for "romance" with these two that it's almost painful to read!!
Look at the way she talks to Johnny in 489, she acts like she's one of the team, when in truth she's just someone that fell into it.
So what should she do? Be amazed at all the wonderous Earth things and shut her cat trap? Also this arc takes place almost a month after the last arc, she's been there a month, so who knows how many tears were shed. Do you want a couple of pages who her balling her eyes out?
I'm sorry, I meant flirting period. You know, the Ororo/Hepzibah OTP thingy. You'd think CC was writing it. :D
And no, I'm not quite sure I agree it comes off as meaningless flirting. And even if I did, the timing is plain atrocious.
So basically if she's not curled up in the fetal position crying...everything else is bad timing? I don't get it, she's not allowed to be friends, have a good time, joke around b/c her boyfriend died?

Why on Earth would I flirt with a female? "Vale" in my nick stands for Valeria...

Yea, that's real clear. We have men on this forum who have Jean, Emma, Dazzler in their names. So it doesn't exactly come off crystal fucking clear if your a man or a woman.

For a while, kinda. Isn't that how it usually work out? People usually sucking at dealing with grief rather than not at all for a little while? Said little while lasting longer than, what, 2 weeks...?
But, hey, maybe she's just in the denial stage of grieving. But then again, considering she's hardly and ever will be a major character, we'll most likely never see her going through said stages.

1) Corsair is buried.
2) Right now it just seems like a good friendship.
3) She's not acting like she's been an X-Man forever, but she is acting like she has been in numerus battles and is just calm under pressure.
ditto'd.
and we all grieve in different ways. and we're all human. She's an alien skunk. you can't expect her to act as a human would in every situation. and just cuz it's not shown, doesn't mean she hasn't shed a tear. Do we even know if her skunk/cat people are able to cry?

I hope she stays forever. LOL. I hope the X-men are like the grandchildren of Anole, Loa, Surge, etc. AND a 200 year old Hepzibah.

Regardless it isn't even related to the thread so can you NOT talk about it? At the very least as a favor to Jack Flash. It isn't even that big of a favor.
Back to Hepzibah. She is awesome and probably has a different way of grieving considering you know she isn't human.

Wait, that last post of mine can't actually qualify as...?

Disagree on the former, agree on the later although I don't think it's an actual viable excuse. Oh well.

I don't maybe for the skunk cat people it's disrespectful to the dead to NOT move on..as it would be like dieing while still being alive or something.
I like how the X-men teams right now are so non-traditional.

Timing was a key element in my rant.
You don't see me giving Cyke of medal for kissing Emma in front of Jean's tombstone, now do ya? ;)

That's my point though. Maybe the skunk/cat people make themselves move on fast or something like that. You can't blame an alien for not complying with human traditions.

Sure I can. Mere weeks is fair game in my book. :D
It's not just an alien thing; in Zorba The Greek the widow is harrassed because she resisted the advances of the local men after her husband's death. She is blamed for the death of one overzealous suitor. I was told that in some cultures a widow with no kids was expected to marry again, while in other cultures men were expected to remarry, but it was frowned upon for women to do so.
