Crave Online: What were your thoughts on the Civil War series?
Stan Lee: Well, I read quite a few of them and I was very jealous. I wish I had thought of it. Whenever they come up with really clever ideas like that it makes me sorry I’m still not at the comic book company because it’s fun doing those things. And I’m a little upset that they can come up with so many great concepts without me, but I guess I’ve got to live with that.
Crave Online: With Wolverine, Magneto, Thor and such in the works, are there any you’re particularly excited about?
Stan Lee: I am excited about the Wolverine one, Magneto especially because we’ve seen a lot of Wolverine. I feel we haven’t seen enough of Magneto, who’s one of my favorite characters.
Crave Online: What do you think of the new Incredible Hulk series?
Stan Lee: Well, I think it’s a great idea because the Hulk is a terrific character and I think there were just a few things wrong with the first movie. And I think those things can be rectified and remedied in the second movie and I think the second movie will really surprise everybody. I think it will be an enormous hit.
Crave Online: Were you unhappy with the Ang Lee one?
Stan Lee: I was too busy admiring so many of the things that the director did because he tried to get a unique, really comic book feeling into it, the way he laid one scene over another. And I thought that the way the special effects were done with the Hulk himself was very good. There were just some story points which I think made it a little less pleasing to the audience than it could have been.

Even Stan Lee has noticed Wolverine has been used, well, more then a little bit. Magneto? Not so much.

In all kinds of ways, Stan Lee continues to be a class act. For the longest time, he was the only name I really knew in comics. 30 years ago I was telling my family that all I wanted to do was go to New York, see the Marvel Comics building, and get Stan Lee's autograph.
If nothing else, his enthusiasm has not waned for comics for longer than many have been alive. And that says something.

Wolverine was a good character, until he started showing up in every comic.
I'm tired of seeing him.
Magneto will become Galactus new herald and the original Sentinels will be used as Magneto's new army. Along with a newly repowered Blob, Pyro, Toad, Juggernaut, and Avalanche.

Nice interview... thanks for the link!
Stan's always great to hear from. I wonder what parts he'll have in the upcoming movies.
His "But I'm Stan Lee" to the bouncer and getting turned away at Reed and Sue's wedding in the latest FF movie was great! :D

I think it would be interesting if Magneto became Galactus's New Herald, could you imagine the power that he'd have now as a Herald of Galactus.

Stan Lee is just about the awesomest person in existence. Notice Stan Lee, who invented Iron Man, doesn't seem to have any problem with his characterization? :p
I don't care what they say, he has not gone even slightly senile, STAN LEE UBER ALLES!

Well ,as the man who invented Iron Man, when asked about the series everyone claims made Iron Man a villain, you'd think he'd at least mention that. Expressing his approval indicates he has no major problems and you'd think that would be a major problem.
But no worries, I'm joking. This is Smilin' Stan- he may be utterly awesome but he has a tendency to love everything Marvel does, unelss the fans all hate it in which case so does he, bless him. ;)

Stan Lee is right, Wolverine is a massively overused character.

I know I'd like to see it. Marvel needs to hire me as a plot writer. ;)

Your comments strike accord with many of us.
Truer words were never spoken; Stan is a class act! Even when he has something negative to say, he says it with such kindness and sincerity that it sounds like a complement - now that is a real superpower!
