So it's come to my attention, from a little short british man, that it might be offensive for women on the team to be called X-Men. How come they don't always call them X-Men and X-Women. It's just wrong I tell you, WROOOOOOOOOOOOOONG!!!
Why wouldn't Xavier make a push to have them all called the corrent noun? Is this just another example of a bastard move by Xavier?

Yes. Xavier is clearly evil.
I think we should start a petition to call them X-folk or X-persons.

More proof.
There are no fugly X-women (except when Kordey draws them). Coincidence? I think not.

I would think that women like Storm and Betsy and Rogue would be better suited in the kitchen and doing laundry...I mean they need to eat and I'm sure those uniforms are always dirty.

He also only recruits impossibly good looking, well endowed ladies (Tessa, Jean, Ororo, Lorna, Rogue, Rachel, Petra, etc). Notice how all the "fuglies" or mammary-challanged girls (Jubes, Sarah, etc) only got on when Xaiver was away?

Illiterate idiots.
From Dictionary.com
Man
Definition #2. a member of the species Homo sapiens or all the members of this species collectively, without regard to sex: prehistoric man.
Thus the use of "men" in "X-Men" is an acceptable usage of the word because it is disregarding any specific sex of the individuals included in the grouping.
I would also like to address the stupidity of declarative statements such as "Rogue is a cool X-Men." Men is a plural form of "man", meaning "more than one". Since the statement is only recognizing one particular individual the correct form would be "X-Man" in reference to the singular usage of the word, I.E. "Rogue is a cool X-Man".
Yes, I just had to use knowledge to crap all over your fun thread. :p

To prove that Xavier is sexist. He should have called the X-Men, X-People, or X-Group, or X-Unisex. It's unfair and discriminatory to women to continue to call it X-Men, like the Men are the only important ones in the book.
To be fair he did start with 4 guys, but then there is that pesky jean grey.:D

Well, X-Men and X-Women have by far the nicest ring to it.
And considering how 4 of the 05 were guys...
Not saying it's not sexist, but come on.

Wait, the nice ring or sexist part?
About the nice ring part, well, X-Men/Women VS. X-group/family/whatever. Yeah.
About the sexist part, I was just saying Xavier's use of the masculine wasn't any more sexist than its regular use in grammar.

In American English, a "biscuit" is a small form of bread made with baking powder or baking soda as a leavening agent rather than yeast. (Biscuits, soda breads, and corn bread, among others, are sometimes referred to collectively as "quick breads" to indicate that they do not need time to rise before baking.)
Biscuits are extremely soft and similar to scones; in fact, many recipes are identical. In the United States, there is a growing tendency to refer to sweet variations as "scone" and to the savory as a "biscuit", though there are exceptions for both (such as the cheese scone). A sweet biscuit served with a topping of fruit and juice is called shortcake. In Canada, both sweet and savory are referred to as "biscuits", "baking powder biscuits" or "tea biscuits", although "scone" is also starting to be used.
Biscuits are a common feature of Southern U.S. cuisine and are often made with buttermilk. They are traditionally served as a side dish with a meal, especially in the morning. As a breakfast item they are often eaten with butter and a sweet condiment such as molasses, light sugarcane syrup, sorghum syrup, honey, or fruit jam or jelly. With other meals they are usually eaten with butter or gravy instead of sweet condiments. However, biscuits and gravy (biscuits covered in country gravy) are usually served for breakfast, sometimes as the main course.
For the life of me, I will never understand how America turned biscuits into cookies, chips into fries, crisps into chips, and football into soccer.
