If so, are you happy with that choice, or did you go back to the big two? I love Image now, they take up most of my pull list. I hope to write for them one day. I just got tired of all the "big events" and tie-ins and spin-offs that Marvel was putting out.

I've always read Image. I dropped Marvel about a year ago, and I bought my final DC-central book last week. I'm now Vertigonly. The big events did grow tiresome, and I was tired of super heroes.
Image is a wonderful place right now, and while I'm done with the super hero stuff, they have their own unique takes on the cape and tights crew as well as just about anything else one could ask for. All the money that used to go to DC and Marvel, now more of it goes to Image and other indie publishers.
My other likeable publishers right now are Dark Horse, Avatar, and Archaia Studio Press.
I didn't stop reading DC or Marvel, but I did reduce the number of titles I buy from them. Now my I'm reading a fairly equal share from each company, with a few books from some of the smaller publishers.

There are a few holdouts from Marvel and DC left, but I do read a lot of Image books, and when I see a new #1 from a creative team I've never heard of, I'm much more likely to give it a shot if it's from Image.

With Marvel and DC, I seem to enjoy the fringe books much more than the ones "core" to their universe. For example, I'm pulling Blue Beetle on one side of the fence and titles like Iron Fist on the other.
However, Invincible is my favorite super-hero book at the moment. The Amazing Wolf-Man is also on my list and it seems about time I started digging back into Walking Dead TPBs.

I usually get about fifteen to twenty titles a week, and for the first time independent non-superhero comics beat out Marvel in my shopping. Most of these were Image titles.
While I am enjoying big event books like World War Hulk, I've finally succeeded in leaving behind titles I'm buying just because I've been reading since issue one.
Image has me beyond excited with all the titles they've announced at the convention this weekend. Marvel and DC....not so much (Captain Marvel sounds interesting).

ive never read D.c. but i do buy a few marvel titles.
I will never leave spidey, and since the first issue of planet hulk i have not missed a hulk issue, i also am grabbing wwh and some of the tie ins, but thats about it. Most of my pullist are now independents.
Avatar, Boom, dark horse, dynamite, fangoria, idw, image, and aspen (even through the hellish delays)

Just as with Aelo, I didn't 'drop' Marvel or DC for Image, but rather, long, long ago, dropped any title boring me, regardless of who published it, or who is featured in it. I don't buy into "Events"-- ever since Contest of Champions (which admittedly was fun, but then, was also one of the first of its kind) there's been few (if any) events that have ever paid off for me. Perhaps had I been a die-hard DC fan, Crisis (the first Crisis) might've; but I wasn't even, by then, a die-hard fan of any company save, perhaps, Aardvark-Vanaheim!
Now about a third to one-half of any given preorder is composed of Marvel/DC/Image/Dark Horse titles, and the rest come from 'de ol' back o' de previews book; "indies" that is.

For a little while, yes. This was back in the early to mid 90's. And then I discovered that Image was even worst than Marvel when it comes down to cross overs. It was shortly after that, when through a period where i was not reading comic books at all.

Image, Oni, Top Shelf and Dark Horse dominate my purchase list. I still enjoy a couple Marvel and DC books. I'm kind of at a point where I don't give a shit about what's going on with Spider-man or Batman.

Nope.
I buy comics from Image, Marvel, DC, IDW, Aspen, and many Independent companies.

I think it also depends on what you mean by "DC". Does that include Wildstorm and Vertigo? I think each of the companies has a distinct style, and from Image I see a lot of fun and playfulness; it's like comics made by people who love comics.
Sometimes I'll check out a rival company's book because of an Image book: this happened with my picking up Irredeemable Ant-Man because of Kirkman's work on Invincible.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, the companies are secondary to the creators, and there are great books being made at each of them. :)

I dropped all but a few DC and added more Marvel and Image. Most of my pull list is Marvel though.

I try to buy what i like and just screen out the whole marvel,dc,etc thing.I find that if you pick side's you just miss out on some really good stuff.
I mostly buy marvel because that's what i grew up reading it's not a knock on the other's just what i have always read. But that wont stop me from buying dc,image, etc if they have something i like.
I still read Marvel & DC books but less than I used to. However I read other companies instead of just Image - Dynamite, Dark Horse.

I still buy Marvel and DC occasionally but some of the Image stuff (and Crossgen) are what made me a comic fan...argh, I get tired of the huge crossovers too...

I don't get the concept behind dropping a publisher.
I read good comics.
I'm not going to not read Iron Fist because Quesada and Co. don't know what to do with Spider-man or whatever.
I do dig plenty of Image books though.

Nope, but back in the early 90's, I did add a bucketload of Image books - far, far too many Image books - which either never seemed to come out or got dropped within a year or two because they were rubbish.
Nowadays? I basically only buy DC, Marvel and the new Buffy book. Nothing else really interests me, especially on the 'alternative' side of the industry.

Nope but I do have more of interest in image comics more than marvel or dc. I Still buy marvel and dc titles just only the big stuff like civil war and infinite crisis .

I came back to comics in 1994 after a long hiatus.
The Maxx, published then by Image, is the primary reason I came back to the fold.
I've explored other indie publishers since then and never really went back to Marvel. Although, I own Daredevil: Yellow, Spider-man: Blue, Hulk: Grey and Fantastic Four/Iron Man: Big In Japan.

Nope... I'm too attached to many Marvel and DC characters.
I'm like Paulski... I basically only buy DC, Marvel, the new Buffy book plus I get Red Sonja.
Though I was Image heavy for years... I just lost interest with chronic lateness.

Nope.
I'm a big superhero fan (though that's not *all* I get), but I do try to get at least a little something from any company if it looks then proves interesting enough. Currently enjoying Dynamo 5.

In the early 1990's just after Image started, I dropped everything by everyone! Too many gimmicks, too many crossovers, too many books looked the same. Men = Over muscled, Women = Big Breasted & every side kick wore a bad variant 'Wolverine' costume or hair style!!! I rejoined comics in 1998 with the 'heroes return' relaunch at Marvel. George Perez still has it. Nowadays I am selective at what I read but I look at what everyone is putting out and then read about 6/8 core books a month, with maybe trying out another 2/3 that show promise when I have the spare time / cash. I am interested in storylines not just a run or set of comics. The story is key and 'nice art' helps!

I'm opposite to most of you...
I "dropped" most of Image for more DC because nothing
BIG ever seems to happen in Image.
I say "dropped" because since I've been back into comics, most of my image
pulls have ended or been cancelled (Girls, Hunter/Killer, etc.) and I just never
bothered to 'pick something else... I dropped Death dealer cause I got tired
of waiting for something to happen. I'd of done that with spawn, buy loyalty
kept me subscribing because it was the first comic I was into and went out
of my way for.
I'm glad I stayed with spawn, but I can't really say that anything beyond
invincible has me interested. I was heavy into bombqueen, but delays
pushed me out.
The Walking dead is still great for what it is. I just don't car for zombies.
(same goes for vampires, werewolves, mummy's, frankenstein, and the like).
I mean as far as fresh concepts go, Image is the biggest company with the
most. that's just not disputable. But when it comes to buzz and
honest, 'can't turn the page fast enough' anticipation, the best, at least for
me, occur when 'major' characters from other booke interact in one cohesive
universe.
Yeah, Spawn killed the world and all his supporting cast
...which was beyond cool.
But Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) sucker punched Batman in front of the entire Justice league, and the Bat family! Then just walked away! And the consequences played out in each of their own books later on.
...Just. Plain. Awesome.

Im mostly a Marvel reader but I have gotten to the point now whare Im more picky when it comes to the Marvel Titles I want to get.
I rarely read any comics from DC, except for either BOP or Teen Titans. I mostly pick up Vertigo comics or The Authority.
I like Image on account that most of their stories seem fresh and interesting while with the Marvel or DC main titles has become too Gimmicky with their storylines.

i honestly don't pay much attention to publisher, i follow writers and artists i like.
I buy Image comics and Wildstorm.
I recently got some old Guy comics from D.C know, and big events as well.
Wildstorm outclasses D.C and Marvel in everyway when it comes to the titles. Disagree all you want.

Naw, but Image definitely gets more of my consumer dollar these days...
I stopped buying a lot of Marvel due to Image and Valiant. Back then I only bought a few DC titles. I have liked the Image comics from day one, and still do, and Marvel flooded the market with too many really crappy series, so I just drifted to the series I liked from publishers like Image, Valiant, Dark Horse, Tekno and Malibu.
When Marvel started focusing on telling good stories again with imprints like Marvel Knights and MAX, I started buying Marvel again, though a lot less than I used to. DC also started doing things I liked around the same time, and IMO they are better than Marvel, so today the majority of the books I buy is from DC.

When I was 14, I thought Spawn was the "grown up" version of Batman, and I thought he was a character that kid Batman fans should move onto when they were too old for Batman. This was because it had more gore adn violence. I remember at the time Spawn was being reprinted in the UK , and the image of a man with ice cream scoops stuck in him was very adult to me. Now I read Batman and have not read Spawn for years.

I've always been a Marvel guy. But Marvel isn't Marvel anyways. Infact, Marvel's two compaines (Regular and Ultimate) and neither seems like the same place. So, I admit I'm in a bind. I still read a couple Marvel books and occasingly other books, too.
Marvel and DC is my bread and butter for comics. I've read a few Image titles and thought the books were well-written(Noble Causes, Invincible, and Savage Dragon) but not worth collecting unless I see it in bargain bins.
Is Image in danger of overflooding the market with too many new titles? I see it still doesn't capture a large share market.

How many Image comics readers are not superhero fans?
I'm not big on superheroes. I have a small collection of superstuff which I've listed earlier.
I don't rule out the genre 'cos sometimes I find stuff that interests me but I find the works by Eisner, Kieth, Miller, Mahfood, TenNapel, Morse, Kochalka, Pope, Thompson and a few other more to my liking.
Of course, these gents led me to check out other publishers too.

In the begining I was only a Marvel-reader. Few years, I have begun to try DC Comics.
But after many years reading comics of these big 2, I decided to reduce them because in fact I followed some titles by usual and not by interest. But I needed years and years to make me account... (I think slowly... And I'm a weak-geek lol).
I have dropped :
- at Marvel : Spider-Man-family (except Spider-Girl & other Mc2-DeFalco where I find still fun), most of the Avengers-family (except Iron Man because I like this Science-fiction concept of the inventor-armor...), and Fantastic Four...
Now there is only 4 monthly titles I still buy : Thunderbolts-Iron Man-Spider-Girl-Hulk.
And few mini-series sometimes (for exemple : Omega Flight for Oeming, or the funnies' Dan Slott : GLA/GLX/etc, Defenders, Vaughn's Dr Strange, Miligan/Allred/Dragota's X-Statix...).
And I buy the old stuff (Masterworks, some Era Atlas...)
To my mind, and without bashing, Marvel has problems : always boring statu-quo during years and years, and suddendly weak-big events after big events, stupid death/resurection/re-death... And never ends of these events... I don't like this way... But I can understand that it's a very-profitable-way...
- at DC : Batman-family (well the fact that DC has stopped Batgirl has helped me, because I was fan of this title and very disapointed) and Superman-family.
But well, DC is a big and very diversify editor... I find many titles or concepts that I still like (Metal Men, Omega Men, Shadow Pact...).
So... I can't drop all this editor... I think I can't drop 100 bullets for exemple... But perhaps I could stop Catwoman in the futur... I don't know...
And I still buy the old stuff (Archives...).
Since 2005 ago I buy many Image comics (number of titles x 5 in 2 years... lol) , and since 1 year ago few another Indies (Dark Horse, Gemstone for the Archives EC...).
But it is at Image that I find most variety things : New concepts, or old concepts with another ways, pure science-fiction, horror, fun, authors who attract me a lot etc...
I find a lot of titles which please me. I find that I really don't find at the other editors...
Well, I don't think I follow only some editors in particulary... I just follow some titles which interest me, and some authors... But yes, now I have a very good feeling with Image...
And now I get ready to make a bigger jump in the indies... (Idw, Olympian, AC, Oni, Boom, Archaia...).

In the wake of Civil War and Infinite Crisis, I was fed up with both Marvel and DC. I turned to Image to see what they had to offer and found Dynamo 5. I admit that I don't read much Image and that I do still read Marvel and DC comics, but I did find a wonderful title due to my discouragement with them. I think that counts for something.

Image is the reason I'm reading comics again. I used to only read X-Men when Jim Lee was drawing it, so when he left X-Men for WildCATs, I followed him to Image. I was only reading WildCATs. When he left, I left comics.
I came back to comics because of Savage Dragon and because Joe Mad was drawing Battle Chasers.
But I have gone back to Marvel comics, as well. Meaning, I'm reading more comics now than ever, but majority of it is Marvel.

I mentioned earlier that I do still read some marvel and dc but now I don't, i get alot of things like image is a wanna be marvel and dc, and things like spawn is batman ripoff or Invincible is just another superman which is not true. So i've decided to stick with image comics i'm reading more of aspen comics and DarkHorse and other companies.

How is Invincible like Superman? And for that matter how is Spawn like Batman? They're all different, dude. I'm not seeing the connections.
