I already disapprove of the next batman arc, I don't like resurrection stories.

But it's Ra's Al Ghul!
This explains Batman on that Countdown teaser picture then. I'm really looking forward to this too - the next few months of Batman are going to be great.

Tony Daniel? They could do worse - his Teen Titans was great.
Good news where I'm concerned. :)

While I think Tony's a decent artist, I don't know if his style's right for Grant Morrison's Batman, who might be all over the place in characterization, but who is always in a somewhat dark environment. Imagine his art for the last issue instead of Andy's. Would've been a pretty bad fit for the story. Damn shame all these great artists take so freakin' long with their art. 'Cause who wouldn't wanna' see J. H. Williams and Grant Morrison together on Batman for more than a couple issues?
Sorry to be loosing Kubert. But I would rather see the book come out monthly. I also like the fact that he said that he would be using a little Neal Adams as inspiration.

Agreed, Kubert has been doing really, really good stuff.
I like Tony Daniel though, the preview art they have shown looks very cool.

Guess I'll be dropping the Flash so that I can afford to get tony's work on Batman.

Should be good. Can't wait for Ra's to come back. Killing him was a mistake.
I liked the preview art they showed, and Daniel's Teen Titans and Flash was great, but he's also one of those artists who does four or five issues in a row, then takes two issues off to catch up. I guess that's the new industry norm.

Lookin forward to this myself, I love Tony's art, particularly always liked his take on Batman. (Yeah, I'm one of the fans of the Batman with longer horns) Here's hoping he'll make comics I'm not looking forward to more readable, I'm tired of everyone and their brother coming back to life... Still Ra's is back, maybe he'll make my dreams come true and kill Talia and Damian!
... Okay probably not, BUT I CAN DREAM DANG IT!

C'mon...if anybody can be plausibly resurrected, it's Ra's.
Great characters + great writers = happenin' shit. Personally, I'm psyched.

I'm not familiar with Tony Daniels, but I've noticed that the image they've displayed carries a touch of Breyfogle in it (namely Batman's head).
Tony''s one of the, draws teen girls like hookers and strippers, type artists, but I like his stuff, when he really puts effort and detail into it.
B/c of his potentially great art, I will check out the new Batman issues. Thanks Jim! :)

Tony Daniel doing the art for Batman. Excellent choice. Ever since I first saw his work on Flash: FMA, I've wanted to see him tackle Batman and now he will. Add in Grant Morrison and the return of my 2nd favorite Bat-villain and you definitely got an instant classic if you ask me.

I loved your Teen Titans. As long as you can keep Batman on a regular schedule with Morrison we'll all be pleased !

I would love to see Tony do a Bane series. He draws so freaking cool big monsters. Just check out The Tenth series he did. Awesome stuff.

Very happy to see Tony back on another monthly. I was disappointed when they moved him off TITANS, and doubly so when they cancelled FLASH mere moments after he started.

Same here. I'll start subscribing to Batman from issue 670, and his artwork is one of the reasons.
He's not my favorite artist, aesthetically, but I find his "panel-work" to be pretty good, as well as his action sequences. He makes a comic more enjoyable to read.

I agree but Norm Breyfogle, Neal Adams, Jim Lee, Jim Aparo, If your going to look for past batman artist for reference or insperation these are probily the best four batman artist EVER. I think Tony is going to be great, and I loveed Grant sense JLA. I just hope that him and grant stay on for more than an arc or two. I miss that from older comics, writers and artist used to stay on for 40 50 100 issues. Grant normally stays on a book for like 40 some issues. Tonys newer to the biz but I hope he stays around longer that some of the resent artist.

When I first saw Tony Daniel's cover for Batman, when he takes over, I immediately got this Neal Adams vibe which instantly got me looking forward to this story.

Well, from the little I see in that pic he looks alright. Can't wait to see more, I don't think I've seen his work before, I don't read the Flash so I don't know what he did with that.

Okay, went and did a search for his work, it's pretty good, looks like good classic type comic book art work, which is a relief, I hate when they use scratchy skritchy type artwork, I hate reading a comic that looks like a 2 year old scribbled it. It is a visual medium and it should look good.
Storie's important but come on, if I'm paying 3 bucks a comic it better be worth it.
I miss when comics were still $1.25.
