I did a search for this topic earlier, to see if anyone had yet inquired about it, and since I haven't found anything as of yet, I thought I would broach the subject.
I notice that there is a thread that people are using to list trades, but already, this is becoming quite a chore to navigate, and I only see it getting worse. Would there be any chance of having a forum added that would be for comic trading? I'm wholeheartedly saying to not allow selling of any type, as I've seen first-hand the amount of peddling unscrupulous 'dealers' will do on forums of that nature. Basically, they pose as 'regular members' in order to use the forum as a venue for their own sales. Hence the reason I think only trading should be allowed.
I would personally volunteer to moderate/manage this forum if it could be created, as I think it would be a great addition to this board. I may be new here, but I've got a pretty extensive online background, including many years in the IT field. So, you could say I know what I'm doing.
Regardless, I'd love to hear opinions on this, and if people would want this. I know I would....but I'm just one voice. Thoughts?

I would definately support such a forum. I'm a pretty regular trader on here as it is. It would be nice.
The trading thread is fine though, I don't have any problem navigating it, it's only 3 pages long (with the 40 posts per page option).

The existing trading thread has been in use for roughly 3 months now. I'm just thinking of what it will look like in, say, 9 months...or even a year. The added benefit of a dedicated forum, is that people can update their threads a lot more easily, such as when their offerings change, and it will be much easier for people to search for specific items. The search engine for the board, as it is now, will have a very hard time finding anything specific in that one thread, since it's part of larger forum. This, if nothing else, would definitely make it easier to find what you're looking for.
The added benefit, would be that more people would be inclined to check a dedicated forum out, rather than having to sift through a monster thread. Yes, it's not that large....right now....I'm just thinking of future considerations.
It may not be the right time for a dedicated forum right at this current moment, but I wanted to get the ball rolling for definite future consideration, if it's not feasible to implement now.
Thanks for your feedback thus far guys! :)
I think the Trading Thread is enough. I've never found it unweildy, and if its gets so, we can just start a new one every time its gets too many pages or something.
I just wish there were more interest in trading, as you see from this thread (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=13361) not many people participate.

This would make things a lot easier.

I guess the two main points that I was trying to make with my posts in regards to this are;
1. A dedicated forum would make posting, searching, archiving, and simply participating in trading much easier.
2. If it were more convenient, and easier to participate in trading, more people would be inclined to participate.
For people who simply don't have a lot of time to dedicate to searching through a thread, looking for something in particular out of the wide variety of titles offered, it would simply be a waste of their time to even begin to dig into it. As it stands right now, I face this very situation myself. I only have so much time in a day, and anything that can be done to cut down the searching I have to do while looking for things would be greatly appreciated.
While I would love to participate in every forum that I could, I simply don't have that kind of time. I understand that no-one wants a fat and bloated forum either, so realistically, enough people have to want this to really warrant it's addition. I'm a patient person though, and I'm sure that eventually, something like this will be needed.

i'd vote a big yes for it too =)
maybe even separated for poor ol' international traders like me!
I'm vey disinclined to make a specific trading forum for a few reasons (technical, asthetic, and legal) but I'll take it under advisment and think about it.

It could be nice. I don't even bother to read the current threads because they're mostly American, but if there was a thread full of British people trading that would be handy

That's a good point. While I don't trade, a trading forum would certainly be a good service for registered posters, and I can't imagine it would take much effort to moderate.
That said CBR would need to be very clear on it not being responsible for any issues that result.

I opened a thread in the X-forum to trade basically my collection and I made more trades and helped out a lot of people who do not normally check out the trade thread.
