Picked up the Sinestro Corps special and was blown away it was awesome, which most people seem to agree with. It seems like this is sort of DC's crossover event and I was curious what should I be reading to keep up on this. I haven't been able to find any kind of checklist or something that has official tie-ins and stuff. I want to keep up on the main event but not have to buy every single issue that has one small mention of this war. Thanks all.

Buy all upcoming issues of Green Lantern and Green Lantern Corps.
This storyline continues completely in both, plus a series of one-shots concerning the core Sinestro baddies as seen on that last page.
I also think an issue of Blue Beetle is involved in coming months...

I think the war is supposed to run in roughly the next five issues of Green Lantern and Green Lantern Corps, as well as in several Sinestro Corps specials: Parallax, Anti-Monitor, Cyborg Superman, etc.
There's been no clear checklist released as yet.
Edit: I think there was something about Blue Beetle, yes. That might not be relevant to the other titles, though.

The Blue Beetle tie-in is issue #20.

I recently picked up the second print of the Sinestro Corps Special. Is that where the story starts? If not, where?

That's where the story starts, and then runs through the next five issues of Green Lantern and Green Lantern Corps (each a separate story arc).

Also, they've been running back-up tales called "Tales of the Sinestro Corps" through the few issues of Green Lantern. That's a good background on some of these individuals.

You see some snippets in issues of Green Lantern from #14 to #20.

But nothing essential, I take it, right?

You see the Sinestro Rings being forged and sent out....um....Batman being offered one....As rerun said, the tales of Sinestro Corp back ups give you a lot of info about certain Corp members. Oh yeah, Amon Sur's confrontation with Hal Jordan before being selected by a ring.

No nothing really big. The backstories would help you in recognizing characters, but there's nothing in there that'd you'd really need to know. I liked them though and if you had enough money I would pick them up.

It's definitely 5 issues of each then?
Wanna add my thanks, I was about to ask this same thing when I saw this thread.

Some stuff regarding Kyle happened in that ION maxi-series. The whole effort to discredit Kyle and using his old foes to distract him was Sinestro's doing I believe. And his mom dies of mysterious illness, turns out the evil pleague/diseased Sinestro Corps member was the reason.
And reading past issues of GL probably helps explain little things here and there. Plus the Tales of the Sinestro Corps, art by Dave Gibbons, which harken back to the ol' days of Tales of the GL Corps.
Oh, and the end of INFINITE CRISIS too (guessing you may've read that, though, Jim :p )

Okay, just read that over the course of a couple days about two weeks ago.

Er, I picked up the whole series but was real busy then and haven't read them yet. :o
If it's something really important, could you spoil it here?

Did GL #21 come out on schedule? If so, my store must have sold out. :(

given background of the characters on the last page, i take it that the war would extend beyond the pages of GL and be integrated on upcoming crisis? honestly this i the most exciting stuff thats happening on comics right now!
