Lobo's been popular in the past and is in the limelight again thanks to 52, Brave & The Bold, etc. Should DC give him another ongoing? If so, who is the ideal creative team?

I think DC needs something, even just a mini-series, for it to poke fun at itself again, and a book starring Lobo and Ambush Bug would be perfect. And who better than Keith Giffen to write and draw it since they're his babies and he's had his hands on two of DC's biggest projects to make fun of in the past two years?

No. He should never have gotten one in the first place. :evilsmile

Sorry, couldn't help myself. I may not be a fan, but any character with enough of a fan following should get an ongoing, including Lobo.

i think he should. He's a great and quite unique character. But he needs a writer who knows how to handle him and an artist who draws lobo the right way. Means the dirty way :D

Only if Morrison writes it. ;)

Idīrather see a Powergirl ongoing first.

I think that Lobo should be retcon-punched so hard that he ends up in the Valiant Universe. On the other hand some people like him so give him a series I don't have to buy it.

Aside from Darkseid he's probably one of my most despised characters in the DCU so from my personal opinion, no.

However considering how massive a following he seems to have it would probably be economically sound to give him a new on-going or atleast a miniseries.

Idīrather see a Powergirl ongoing first.

Same here.

In the past I've enjoyed Lobo's series'... but only in short bursts. I find they get stale after a while (kinda like most Punisher stories at Marvel).

This is a tricky one. Part of me thinks YEAH! I mean we're talking about the dirtest foul mouthed loose cannon action guy out there. I would totaly love to see, pick up, and read this one. But ONLY if it is him kicking ass like the REAL Lobo does none of this religous leader crap from 52. But part of me thinks it isnt such a good idea I want see lobo throwing decapetated heads at nuns, tourturing orphans and pissing on homless people. But most importantly i want to see lobo saying stuff like SHIT, FUCK, CUNT, and ASSHOLE and not have to see this "!#@%" and i dont see DC letting this slide by. So yeah i want him to have his own title but ONLY if it is uncensored.

Lobo's really a better guest star.

I'd also love him as a member of the Justice League or Outsiders. Seriously.

I probably wouldn't buy it, but with all the trouble DC's had launching new characters in solo books they might be smart to give a character like Lobo who has sold in the past another go.

Lobo was created to satirize the uber-violent comics of the late 80's and early 90's, and that is why he was successful in the first place. Comics arent as senseless and over-muscled anymore, so there would be no real point to give Lobo his own ongoing. I say give him a mini and call it the Last Lobo Story and call it a day.

Comics may not be so over-muscled and "Liefeldian" anymore, but they're no less senselessly violent and dark than they were a decade ago. But a character like Ambush Bug's more appropriate to parody that style than Lobo. But the two together? !@#$in' gold!

I think it would be pretty sweet. Lobo is cool. As long as it's a new story and not some Countdown/52/Whatever tie in I'll be fine.

Hell no to Lobo!

No to a Lobo solo book, but a definite yes to the return of L.E.G.I.O.N with Lobo in tow. Just pull Matt Fraction and Barry Kitson over from The Order.

IIRC Keith Giffen (who invented the character) thought Lobo was a one-joke character who should never have had an ongoing in the first place. Given that he couldn't stop it happening he (rightly I suspect) recommended Alan Grant for the job.

I'm inclined to agreen. Lobo was great in Justice League and in his first couple of miniseries and a few of the specials, but an ongoing is more exposure than that character should have.
