I've only started reading Hulk again after a long time away and I've started with WWH, and read up on the background to it. I understand all of Hulk's warbound are former Gladiators and everything but one of them is so far bothering me.
Brood.

How many of these things get their clocks cleaned permanently in X-men and other series, and yet the one in Warbound seems to be Superbrood.

Is there an actual reason for this, or is it just for the sake of the story?

I am leaning on the fact it was established Sakaar was a much more hostile place and we don't know how it's atmosphere deviates from Earth's own or the trials/battles the rest of the Warbound have went through. I personally find it out of character a Brood is doing anything other than trying to implant eggs in people but it's obvious since it's homeworld was destroyed, no-name has gained some greater sentience and independence not before seen exhibited by the Brood, even showing compassion and understanding. Perhaps alone without others of it's kind he's adapted and became stronger on Sakaar? Otherwise there's no reason Ms Marvel couldn't have just ripped it in two. However it has been that hinted Miek and no-name may have something going on and I'm pretty sure Miek is a dude... now that defines "bumping uglies".

I don't ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever EVER want to thik about Miek and No-Name "bumping uglies." I call PIS for the Brood beating Ms. Marvel. She isn't a push-over, she's in the power level just below guys like Sentry and Surfer. But it's too early I guess for anyone of Hulk's team to be beaten in a fight, so for now we just have to accept that one Brood beat the ones and won the fight.

Shes no pushover but I'd hardly say she was just below Herald class...She's not even a teambeater.

She's good at one on one, and can beat a team devoid of a powerhouse. She's... Thing level.

I think it's fair to say though that Ms Marvel is up alongside any of the best X-Men though, (excepting Phoenix of either variety) where as Brood are and have been beaten and well beaten by heroes of that level and lower before.

Personally I think it would have been much more interesting when the warbound showeed up if someone had just gone "Ugh Brood!" and squashed it, plus it would have really upset Hulk and led to more fireworks.

But Brood is lovely, she does puppet shows for kids!

I'm disappointed they went with "Warbound" instead of the much cooler "Hulkamaniacs"!!!

Well, she has survived in the Gladatorial arena for some time now. Perhaps she acquired warfare skills most Brood never do. She could be the Shang-chi/Zaran of Brood warriors by now.

Quinch, is this confirmed, or are you just pulling our leg? *spoiler*

Hope that helps. If that's true, then I could see her being in a power class strong enough to at least match Ms. Marvel.

Also, people forget that we never actually see the Brood take her out. We see them engage one another, then the next time we see them Ms. Marvel's out. It's another Black Bolt-esque "off panel" fight.

She was a Warrior Prime, the most elite of all brood warriors. Unfortunatly, her entire team was swallowed by a giant monster before they could contribute anything to the fight against the X-men on their homeworld. If they had been deployed in time, the outcome may have been different.
