VERY FUN BOOK

very fun.

Dont really like Lobo but her and supergirl was fun

4 was good

Love seeing Batman going Crazy in the era. And Brainy insults. Dont quite get his plan. But like how they add wild elments without seeming TO CRAZY like morrison sometime do. Like the little adition of Supegirl being more powerull on Rann cause of 3 suns

Karati kid fight was pretty cool too. And like that Brainc rigged his ring unlike the other legionares. It fit his charcter

I think Brave and the Bold #5 ran down a checklist of badassery.

Half-robot Batman time-traveling to the 31st century? Check.
Legion of Super-Heroes standing in awe of a legend? Check.
Except Brainy, 'cause he's a dick? Check-check!
Batman single-handedly taking down an advanced supergroup from the future with friggin' smoke bombs and kung-fu? Double-check!
Stealing Brainy's ring and running roughshod through the future? Check!
Mid-air kung-fu fight with Karate Kid? Holy crap, check!

The first and last pages could've been two puppies getting smashed in the street by a truck, and this still would've been one of the most awesome, pure action comics I've read in a long time.

That's sounds really good. I think I might pick this book up again.

Seriously, that is the best review I've ever read by a messageboard poster.

Every time Brainy directed a "primative" reference at Batman, I had to stop reading for a few seconds and absorb the goodness of Waid and Perez.

(and get images of Phil Hartman's Caveman Lawyer out of my head)

And, of course, Batman tying Triplicate Girl into a Siamese Human Knot. Holy Hamstrings, indeed!

Great book Waid and Perez have managed to make even Supergirl enjoyable and that is saying a lot, and with 1 more issue to go I can't wait to see the inevitable multi hero throwdown.

Is this series going to feature Batman in a team-up in almost every issue ? Or will there be more variation in the team-up.

Well issue #7 is Power Girl and Wonder Woman.

just want to add my name to those enjoying this title-- and to think I almost missed out! Got issue one on a slow day, and quickly added this to my pull list. Even disliking LSH (just too many characters for me--never been a 'team player/reader), I enjoyed the latest issue a whole lot, for all the reasons Jack Zodiak lists (thanks, Jack, check!).

This arc has revolved primarily around Batman and Hal Jordan. I'd guess Wonder Woman and Power Girl (the teamup in #7) will be the prime stars of the next arc. And I'd assume we'll be seeing Superman quite a bit before long.

Single best line in the book....

"That cro-magnon stole my flight ring!"

Just about as perfect an issue of a superhero comics as I have ever seen.

A seamlessy woven in reference to the Adam Wst/Burt Ward Batman show? BRILLIANT!

I'd guess Wonder Woman and Power Girl (the teamup in #7) will be the prime stars of the next arc.

It's actually a self-contained story, according to current previews and solicitations.

This series brings back that classic old fashioned heroes versus villains 70s and 80s feel. For readers who are experiencing nostalgic good feelings, this series is great.

As an "old-time" fan (and one of the few Perez fans still around, apparently), I have been loving this book. It's pure fun, and as I said in another post somewhere, I have been loving the little bits of dialogue between characters that reveal so much about their personalities. The latest issue had so many.

I'm trying to get over my continuity anal retentiveness, though. An obviously added note at the beginning of the story said that this takes place before the Lightning saga (if so, then how come Bruce doesn't take Clark aside in the Lightning Saga and say, "Golly Clark, this isn't the same Karate Kid I fenced with at 30,000 feet"). I'm also not sure exactly when in the future the story is supposed to take place. Obviously, Supergirl is not present, and because Mon-El is there, it is probably post-supergirl. Well, hopefully all will be reveal in the conclusion. These wonderings aside, I enjoyed it.

Also, good review, Jack.

Maybe Batman will forget his experiences there when he returns to the present.

I picked em up.. Maybe someone could explain what legion this is for me. I got away from comcs for awhile and I'm not a continuity nut but over in JLA it seems to be a totally different legion than this one. Batman has fought karate kid twice now and you'd think he would have thought "hey, I've fought this guy before" in one of the sequences. Again, I'm not a continuity nut and that didn't ruin it for me I just don't recognize some of these characters from the classic legion.

be gentle if this is a dumb question, I really havent' bought alot of comics in the last 10 years.

They're from the latest reboot of the Legion, from the relaunch of the book about 2 1/2 years ago. They're the ones you'd read about if you picked up the current Supergirl And The Legion Of Supeheroes title right now.

Not a dumb question at all, Al. I myself am just got back into things about a year ago after being away since about 1989. I am in the process of trying to figure out everything that I missed over that time. I missed the whole reboot of the Legion that took place in the '90s. I got interested in the latest version when I picked up the tpb of the Waid reboot at my local library. They had the first two volumes. My son & I enjoyed them so much we bought them, picked up the subsequent "Supergirl and..." volume and have been picking the individual issues ever since. Our public library has a great collection of Graphic Novels. We are blessed that way, and I know not every library has such a great collection, but this is a super way to check things out before making the investment in purchasing any particular collection or making the decision to start picking up a title on a monthly basis. I have to say, if it weren't for our library and my son picking up tpb's there on a weekly basis, I probably wouldn't have gotten back into things. There would have been just too much to catch up on. But with the library I can read titles I would never spend money on, simply just to catch up. We also use interlibrary loan a lot to read arcs that we're missing. We spend our money wisely on what we want to keep and current monthlies we really like. If you've been away for awhile and want to catch up I highly recommend checking out your local library and interlibrary loan. Then when I read something that doesn't make sense I'll often post a question here and some nice person will either answer it or send me in the right direction (then it's off to our local library or comic shop to check it out first hand).

Glad you're back and happy reading!

Check out the Perez-themed thread in this forum and the wish list for the Final Crisis creative team in the "Countdown" forum and you'll see that the Pacesetter still has plenty of fans.

What happened to Lobo's bike?

Just wasn't thrilled with Perez's design.

This Issue was Awesome.

Braniac: Please, if Batman can operate it...

Batman: Kid...I've had just about enough of you.

*Thok*

*Kunnk*

(Smoke Bomb)

(Ninja Dissapearing Act)

Braniac: A smoke bomb! Of all the Primitive--

That part ALONE was worth my money. Bravo to all involved in getting this issue in my hands.
