One more question before the weekend starts!

What does/did Dan DiDio mean when he wrote:
"Superman and Wonder Woman discuss parent issues" in his 'DC Nation' column at the back of September dated issues?
(This was in regard to the original Countdown teaser poster. The one where Supes is sooking like at little girly boy!)

Consensus seems to be that one of Sups parents die, probably his mother, and he turns to Diana for support and comfort since she also lost her mother (only for her mother to come back all crazy-like).

WW just had her mom come back to life so I would expect that we will see the long-awited return of Jor-El.

Who will be Hipolyta's new love interest.

Oh you laugh now but they laughed at the idea of Bucky and Jason Todd coming back too and who's laughing now?

Could it not have anything to do with the Superman and Son Arc? Maybe WW is going to be taking on a kid here soon too??

I would guess that Pa Kent is going to die and Superman will relate to Wonder Woman over Hippolyta’s death.

Superman discovers, for absolute certain, that he and Lois are completely genetically incompatible and can never have children.

He then has an emo-moment with WW that turns into an affair.

Lois then turns up pregnant. Because the doctor was WRONG!

Well Kingdom Come Supes and Wondy had a kid.

And since it seems KC Supes is showing up in JSA...

uh...

I don't really know where I was going with that.

You know, it would be interesting to see Jor-El of another Earth's reality show up. Say a world where Krypton survived, or Jor-El was able to save the entire population after all.

With the Son of Zod story, maybe young Christopher Kent stays in the picture or it's something about Kara or because of the whole Son of Zod ordeal, Clark and Lois ask Wonder Woman to be a surrogate mother for their child since you know, who else could bear his kid?

But more than likely it's just the whole dead parent thing. Or Clark and Diana disagree over how to handle Hippolyta.

If the story in Justice League 0 lives up to what it had in it, then Pa Kent dies.

Wonder Woman is currently having problems with her mother.

Can someone tell me what problems does Wondy have with her mother, and how did the latter come back to the world of the living?

And my guess is the one I've been having for a while now: Pa Kent will die.

JLA's zero issue showed Bruce & Diana visiting Smallville and consoling Clark after his father died so I'm thinking this may be happening sooner rather than later.

Apparently, Circe went to Themyscira and resurrected Hippolyta. Then she told Hippy that Diana was being held prisoner by the US Government (Dept. of Metahuman Affairs), which made Hippolyta real mad. She sicked her Amazons on the US (in Amazons Attack) and the resulting massive killing spree has driven a wedge between mother and daughter.

I, too, see PA Kent dying..

Interesting. But isn't Diana inside the DMA as Agent Diana Prince? If so, why would Circe lie to Hippy?

Gee, could it possibly be because she's evil?

I don't know. I don't read WW comics, hence the question.

In Greek mythology, Circe was a sorceress (though some sources have her as a goddess or nymph) who lived on the island of Aeaea. She was most infamous for turning people into animals and was renowned for her knowledge of herbs and drugs. She's featured in the Odyssey.

DC Comics Circe is essentially the same woman, some differences from the Greek mythology such as her parentage. Here's what Wiki has to say on the feud she has with Diana:

Circe is the daughter of the Titans Hyperion and Perseis. Circe is a powerful witch and former princess of Colchis. A beautiful, violet-haired, red-eyed sorceress, she is known for turning people into animals (which are called Beastimorphs), as well as for powers of mind-control. Circe has been a devoted follower of the goddess Hecate for thousands of years. She has lived on the island of Aeaea where she became a powerful being in both magic and in influence over portions of man's world. During his adventure to her island, Circe fell in love with Odysseus and bore him three sons: Agrius, Latinus, and Telegonus.

Though Circe's patron goddess Hecate was an offspring of the Titans, she was not considered one of the main Twelve Olympians. Zeus gave her much respect, but she didn't hold much favor with others on Olympus. As such she married the god Hades, but their marriage didn't last and Hecate was demoted as handmaiden to her former husband's new wife. Because of this she left the realm of the gods and agreed to render her soul to her most devoted servant Circe. This caused Circe to attain her current goddess-level of power and immortality.

When Circe learned of Wonder Woman, she became fearful that her power could potentially end. This was because when Hecate transferred her soul to Circe she said the words: Upon the death of witch and the birth of witch, Hecate, by name and choice, shall repossess her soul. In Circe's mind, as Wonder Woman's name is Diana, this meant that she had the potential to take Hecate's power from her. This was because Hecate, in addition to being goddess of witchcraft, was also a goddess of the moon. As Diana's name is also a name of a moon goddess, Circe felt she must destroy her. Once Diana learned this fact as well, she felt opposite, not wanting to destroy Circe as she didn't want the soul of Hecate possessing her body. This began the long love/hate relationship between Diana and Circe over several years.

Thanx for the info, dude.

Back to the topic at hand, I think that, since the first Countdown teaser, well, teases about Countdown's beginning, it won't be long before Pa Kent dies. Will this have something to do with the evil Superman's appearance in the second teaser?
