Wow, she really kills the President?
Still, the Banas are involved? Why, what's their motivation for helping the Amazons? They hate 'em. I was so damn sure Ares would've been the guy masterminding this whole thing with Circe.

The Bana know that even with surprise, sorcery, and the will of the gods on the side of the amzons that the U.S. will eventually defeat the amazons through greater levels of technology, superior manpower, and its superheroes.
Even if the Hippy, Artemis, and that other chick had the uber-micro of Jeremy, they'd still lose. (maybe if they could channel the power of teh-masterer they could pull it off)

No, the President is badly injured when the Amazons force Air Force One, already damaged by Wonder Girl, to the ground but he never gets anywhere near Hippolyta.

Not sure. Maybe he was joking. I don't recall anyone getting decapitated this issue.

So would you all say this issue was worse or better than the previous ones. I liked last issue just i'm tired of Circe and the amazons going around saying things like hypo isnt herself, but following through her crazy commands anyway.

Well the Amazon regiment that go after Air Force One seem prepared to listen to Superman before the Army guns them down.

On the good side: I don't believe there were any decapitations in this issue. The art remains quite pretty.
On the downside: Just about everything else. Seriously. Heads should roll.
Figuratively, of course,

It's been a mildly entertaining read. I'll say this, I'm enjoying Amazon's Attack alot more than CountDown... Best part of this issue to me was Superman dropping down to stop the Amazons from advancing on the wreckage of air force one. That scene was just really well drawn. Streak of red slamming to the ground with a loud "WHAM!" effect, shadowed silhoutte, glowing heat vision eyes and... "Stop. This. NOW."
One of those moments that reminds you "Oh right... This is the most powerful man on in the world..."

Wait, Grace is an Amazon? Or a Bana? Isn't this something that should be handled by the person who created the character in the book she's starring in, not some crossover-happy mini-series?

Her creator got the book she's starring in cancelled and relaunched without him. Oops.

My god Cassie and Kara are stupid. Seriously. They have become the embodiment of dumb blonde jokes. I feel bad for Sups and Diana to have to put up with such unbelievible stupid (which is completely out of character too I might add). I was cool seeing Superman drop down like that though.

I guess it's probably too much to ask of Winick to finish his own stories when he drops hints about crap. I think it was just recently he was dropping hints about Grace's origin, because busty bisexual bar bouncer isn't enough of an origin.

TBH, I don't see how assuming the Amazons, who have been on their side for pretty much their whole life's, where a better side to pick than the U.S. Government, (Home to such notable presidents as Lex Luthor and Gonzo and weird android with a suggestive name that pretty much sums up what he wanted to do to humanity.)
Its not like they have read the issues or anything, they don't know how out of character the Amazons currently are.

Heh, I'm still enjoying this, even if I'm the only one. It really helps if you read the crossovers, too. On the plus side, at least it was easy to know where the Catwoman tie-in fits in to the story. I'll be looking forward to reading Wonder Woman and Teen Titans next week to fill in some more of the gaps.
Btw, I don't think Kara and Cassie are stupid, just naive. They're taking the queen at her word that she just wants to talk to the pres. I believe there are going to be major repercussions from this in the Supergirl book and Wonder Gir's upcoming mini.

He might not have realized his time was short on the book.

Wasn't she sold into sex slavery as a child? That's all kinda of betrayal.

A column on Publisher's Weekly called it "the crossover that makes sales go down" and they had the numbers to back it up.

It was sweet because the Amazons were killing innocent civilians (like the 8 year old kid in issue 1) and it was nice to see a little revenge on America's side

Is this why I haven't seen any big referneces to this story in other comics (of the ones I've started reading)? DC noticed sales being bad and figured there was no sense in messing up other titles as a result? Or are other comics just slow on tieing into it or have already done so?
Seems that JLA and JSA haven't touched on it at all from the issues I'm reading though I'm just about to start the Lightning Saga crossover between the two of them (read the beginnings up to that point so far) and Green Lantern seems pretty busy with it's own crossover (about to start reading that when #21 and #22 arrive in the mail) and I don't think Detective Comics is touching upon it.
Are the only titles dealing with it Wonder Woman, Teen Titans (Wonder Girl), and Supergirl?
Every other title seems busy with their own stories or crossovers.

I dont know if this was addressed or not but no one said anything about Grace being a Amazon or Bana in this issue or any previous issue for that matter. She was merely approached by the Bana as they wanted to recruit her in fighting against the Amazons, only because they were watching her stomp the crap out of 24 Amazon Warriors within the last 2 hours. That's as much the reason why they asked her to join them as we know for the time being. She promptly responded by giving their leader the boot to the chin... then she gets surrounded by the rest of them and we can assume she either gets with the program or she gets curbstomped.

I think that scene was there because 1) to show neither side is really "good" (ala World War Hulk) and 2) it's logical to assume they'd do that. Being soldiers and all.

Maybe, but Super-Man had gotten them to lower their swords, gotten them to THINK about what they were doing, and just then they're shot down. That's why I wanted to murder those soldiers.

But aren't these the same amazons who murdered cillivans and at tried to take down/take out Air Force One. If I were them I wouldn't hesistate, especially with the chance they had at the moment.

Actually Air Force one was already going down thanks to Wonder Girl. The Amazons were more than likely just tailing Supergirl and Wonder Girl under the orders of their Queen to capture and bring the President back to her should Supergirl and Wonder Girl in the midst of it all decide to not do so as they promised.
