Covering The Batgirl Cover Switch
Mistaken Misogyny Misses The Mark-Busted Knuckles

Ceredo, WV. (7/18/07) Recently there’s been another missile of misogyny fired at the comic book industry. This time it missed it’s mark by attacking a cover switch on the DC Comics book-Showcase Presents Batgirl Volume One.

Beau Smith has decided to throw some common sense water on this fire that never should’ve been started. Click on or cut and paste the link below and see if you think that politically correctness has the right to reinvent history.

But life is so much simpler and less scary if we've all always seen things as a culture exactly the same way as we do now.

It's not anything I'm going to get all excited about or anything, but I too thought that image was a poor choice for the cover and certainly didn't portray Batgirl in a very favorable light.

There was indeed misogyny in the fifties and sixties and even seventies. And all manner of media reflected it.

GET. OVER. IT.

At ease! That's all for now. Smoke 'em if you got 'em.

Didn't care much for the Harry Potter comment. I went to see the movie, and that makes me something to make fun of?

Can political correctness be taken to extremes? Yes. I don't think it's out of line to expect a bit of sensitivity though, and I can see where people might have a problem with that cover.

For people preaching open-mindedness and tolerance, you're being close-minded to their point of view. :)
