in another thread i noticed someone saying

Getting Kicked out of the Justice League- After the Tower of Babel Story line

was an important issue in the batman time line.

can some one fill me in on this maybe even let me know what books or issues i need to pick up sounds really cool

The first trade chronicles the events that lead to Batman getting kicked out of the JLA; the second trade deals with the aftermath. Mark Waid wrote both of them; highly recommended.

To sum up the story, Ra's steals the files that Batman had been keeping on how to disable each member of the JLA in case of an emergency, and uses them against them causing Batman to have to save the day in the end. Afterwards when the League finds out about the plans they vote him out.

The story was the first time we saw Bruce setting up failsafes against other heroes and not trusting them, forshadowing what happened in Infinite Crisis.
