Suicide Squad
Legion of Super Heroes (when they made the jump forward and everything was grim and gritty).
Atari Force (not a joke, I swear).
Judge Dredd (early 90s)
I really do believe that all the publishers are missing out on a huge revenue stream. They should have a series of tpb that are like the critieron collection, just cramped full of extras.

Yeah. Milestone for sure. I don't know why DC doesn't license those characters out and let someone create new stories.
Batman and the Outsiders

Suicide Squad's coming out as a Showcase series(blk and white unfortunately)
Flex Mentallo definitely(trademark issues prevent it from ever happening, tho.)
Wonder Woman's Impossible Stories featuring the Wonder Family
Wonder Woman's "mod"' white suit era(minus that stupid, offensive to both sexes Women's Lib issue)
Wonder Woman: the challenge of Artemis in one volume
TheRealOblivion
07-18-2007, 03:20 PM
Stuff I'd really like to see:
Batman collection of the Jason Todd stories from #408-424
Knightquest
Prodigal- new printing
Superman: Krisis Of The Krimson Kryptonite-new printing, and throw in the issue where Clark tells Lois he's Superman
new printings of the Jeph Loeb/Joe Kelly Superman stuff
an Omnibus style Lobo book
complete Hitman
complete Starman-new printings

07-18-2007, 04:13 PM
The remaining 8 issues of Fallen Angel's DC run, or at least through #18.
Flash: "Chain Lightning" (which reads much better in one sitting than spread out across 8 months) and the Dark Flash Saga.
More Golden-Age Flash. Most of it has never been reprinted, including the early appareances of classic villains like the Thinker, Fiddler, Shade, Rose & Thorn, etc.. Even the Archives are dirt-cheap compared to tracking down the originals.

Peter David's Supergirl as a Showcase
Peter David's Young Justice as a Showcase

Showcase with 80s science fiction, Sun Devils, COnquest of Barren Earth, Spanner's Galaxy etc
All of Ostreiner and Mandrake's Spectre in color (art is too dark for a Showcase)
More Legion archives
Second the vote for the Bierbaum & Giffin run on the Legion
Some best of elseworlds collections, the Supergirl/Batgirl one for example sells for over $50.

I second the Ostrander/Mandrake Spectre (even though I've got all the issues)
Also More Legion although at least they are finally going to reprint the Baxter issues
And more Giffen Justice League especially the Adam Hughes issues - my issues are in a terrible state (the paper used is awful) including the quarterly issues some of which have great Mike McKone artwork.

First and foremost, HITMAN. After that, AZTEK, CHASE, CHRONOS, and the 5YG-era LEGION OF SUPERHEROES.

They reprinted the Flex issues of Doom Patrol, don't see why they can't reprint Flex Mentallo itself.
But yeah, that would top my list. More Legion: Earthwar, the LSV, anything like that... Great Darkness Saga coming back into print would be good too.

A few off the top of my head:
Simonson's Orion series
Ostrander and Mandrake's complete Spectre run (in color)
Ed Brubaker's Deadenders
The remainder of Robinson's Starman "Times Past" stories plus The Shade mini
Jamie Delano's "Family Man" arc from Hellblazer, which I assume will be collected at some point
Chaykin and Garcia-Lopez' Twilight mini and Chaykin's Blackhawk
The first 50 issues of Shade, The Changing Man
The first 13 issues of Giffen's 5yr gap Legion of Superheroes
continuation of Hitman trades

I can't wait the the O'Neil / Cowan 80s Question series to come out in trade. I bought the original issues, but most are in poor shape, so that trade will be nice. I think it comes out in October. Hopefully they'll release the rest. I still can't find the first issues of the quarterly series that ties up the loose ends of the ongoing series.
Ed Brubaker's Deadenders
...
continuation of Hitman trades
Ah! Thank you! Someone else who remembers that Brubaker series. I remember getting a couple of the first issues and then never finding much more. I think I got some random later ones.
Also, I'd like to find even the earlier Hitman trades.

It did? I must have missed it the month I was on comic hiatus! Graci!
There have been some very nice suggestions ... can I just nod at "Sugar and Spike", "Sgt Rock", Barr & Davis' "Batman" run ...
I'm pleased about the Showcase format; the Archives are too dear (although, having said that, I have bought quite a few just because I couldn't resist them!); I wouldn't mind seeing more affordable full colour reprints.
DC Visionaries : Steve Ditko. This would be a "copy" of Marvel's "Visionaries" series. This particular volume would contain "Beware the Creeper", "Hawk and Dove", "Starman" (with Paul Levitz), "Shade : the Changing Man", and any other goodies DC could dig up.
Fox and Crow (Showcase?).
The Complete Ambush Bug (showcase/affordable colour).
Doom Patrol (showcase)
The adventures of Nightwing and Flamebird (Superman and Jimmy in Kandor) : this one is actually on it's way! I'm so pleased!
It's a shame that due to copyright we can never see the 50's DC humour range staring Bilko, Jerry Lewis et al. Sigh.
The Cancelled Comic Cavalcade (showcase).
Of the Showcase series already on-going, I'd like to see more Superman, Superman Family, Legion, Hawkman, Challs ....

Gotta throw the Charlton Question and Blue Beetle stuff in there (I've never read most of it and would love to finally see it).

Agreed with the Charleton Question, along with the O'Neil/Cowyan material. They could even include the material from the Question Quarterly. I've got the latter and I'd be really interested in getting my hands on some of the former. While we're on the theme of men in trenchcoats and fedoras, I'd like to see DC collect their Shadow material too. Not just the O'Neil/Kaluta stuff but the underrated Chaykin/Helfer/Baker stuff (that never really ended did it?) and the really underrated The Shadow Strikes series. It's good that Sandman Mystery Theatre is being collected, DC needs to keep that fantastic series in print.
Ostrander's Spectre is a definite must have too, it's probably one of the best books DC was putting out in the 90's. Ostrander's work on Hawkworld I think is worth colelcting too. I know you can probably find the original issues, cheap, but a trade would save people the work. It's a shame that the mess made of Hawkman continuity has made those stories so unfairly maligned by fans.
With the new focus on the New Gods, Simonson's Orion, which is arguably the best non-Kirby work done with the character, could stand to be collected in a trade so I'll give another nod to that one.

I think they were in trade, but are currently out of print.

Well, the Charlton stuff is available in DC Archives format : and yes, I did buy these, simply because I love Ditko's work.
My suggestion is for his DC work only to be in a "DC Visionaries" format.
One of my other suggestions is for a collection of Neal Adams' work on Superman. Sure, he is possibly better known for his Batman work (and GL/GA?), and perhaps with good reason.
I remember when Mr Adams started on Batman -- "Secret of the Waiting Graves" was the first solo Batman story I remember seeing -- and boy was it different from the rest of the "New Look" Batman stuff. It was amazing.
Still and all, I'd like to see his Superman work collected. It's a damn shame that they can't reprint his "Superman vs Mohammad Ali" -- I really think this is Adams' best work and it is just fabulous stuff.

The Cancelled Comic Cavalcade (showcase).
I would buy that in a HEARTBEAT!
Here's another thought ... still along the lines of a DC version of Marvel's "Visionaries" series ...
I'd love to see a George Perez JLA collection ... that seems like a no-brainer to me? They could've brought it out at the same time as Busiek/Perez's "Avengers JLA" book.
I wish Mr. Perez had done a longer stint on Superman, then we could collect that as well!
I'd welcome reprints of DC's SF material ... I've been pleased by the Adam Strange archives and the forthcoming Showcase presents the Great Disaster ... but I'd like to see collections of the other SF character runs ... Star Hawkins, Space Taxi, Space Ranger, Tommy Tomorrow, Star Hunters (iirc), Atomic Knights ... that kind of stuff.
I have fond memories of the five issue Captain Action run, with art by Gil Kane and Wally Wood. I guess that'll never be collected due to copyrights. Seems a shame though.

I just have finished to read the Showcase House of Mystery. I like it very much, but the black & white and the bad paper have killed my eyes...
