Yet another movie that shot Carrey into stardom is going to be deminished.

this sucks. The first Ace Ventura is still hilarious imo, and all thanks to Jim..this one will not end well

How many Carreyless sequels have to flop before they realize how bad of an idea these are?

Hopefully theaters have the sense not to show this movie and it goes straight to dvd.

Carreys popularity has been declining for quite some time now. I mean, they could bring it back as a blockbuster with him behind it. It's really exactly what his career needs right now............box office smash.

A true Ace Ventra sequel or even the Mask would be sooo awesome. Didn't Carrey once say somewhere that Ace was his favorite character he portrayed, I don't why he wouldn't return if that were the case.

I never liked Ace Venture that much anyway. Carrey has only been solid (and clever) in two films: The Truman Show and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Those 2 flicks wouldn't exist without Ace, man.

Maybe so, but that doesn't mean it's a good movie or that Carrey was that great in it.

Sure they would; just starring someone else. Carrey didn't have anything to do with writing or producing those films.

The article is wrong..... there has been 2 failures in sequels to popular Jim Carry movies. There was the sequel to Dumb & Dumber and the sequel to The Mask.
Evan Almighty just went past $100 million and is a huge sucess after a risky sequel. It was a spin-off type movie based on a small character from the 1st film. So if anything EA actually did pretty damn good to follow Carrey.
Ace 3 looks like shit. And will be direct to DVD odds are.

I think Carrey also said that he never likes to play the same role twice. That's like, a Hollywood tradition.

I think it has to do more with the movie companies not wanting to continue to pay so much for that type of movie and figure if they pay an unknown new cast for much less they could make money by people going to the movie on just name recognition alone.

I always preferred Ace Ventura 2 over the first. This Third one makes me a sad panda.

I can't imagine that a movie I won't see will diminish a movie that I did. And to be honest, wasn't that big a fan of, but that's something else.

Evan Almighty just went past $100 million
And cost $175 million. Combine that with the almost universal critical panning, a paltry foreign take, and its rapidly-dropping theater count, and the movie's a clear bomb.
