View Full Version : What creative team would you like to see do Final Crisis?

Simple question. What creators do you think would do the best job on Final Crisis, and why? You could also discuss why you think some creators wouldn't be a good match, and why creators you'd like on the job probably wouldn't get it (this can easily happen with late creators).
Some of my picks....
Grant Morrison- Probably DC's biggest writer at the moment, and my #1 choice.
Kurt Busiek- The rumored writer. He's excellent at handling continuity from other titles, and writing accessible superhero adventures. Tad inconsistent though.
Geoff Johns- Did an excellent job on Infinite Crisis (in my opinion) but it would be odd to see him write two consecutive Crisis (although it would give the impression that DC's been planning Final Crisis for a while).
George Perez- Simply one of the best comic book artists ever. My #1 choice for artist.
JH Williams- One of DC's best artists. He might have incentives to take over a book which will likely be #1 every month it comes out.

Grant Morrison and Ivan Reis, perhaps.

Grant Morrison and JH Williams sound like a great team. Morrison and Sook would be fun too.

I'd like to see Gardner Fox and Jack Kirby...
... but I'll settle for Busiek and Perez. :)

Kurt Busiek, Mark Waid, George Perez, Carlos Pacheco, Moose on colors, that way it can come out on time and the art will be amazing.

Busiek and Perez for me. Most of DC's other big name writers have had a hand in the other recent event books (Gail Simone is an exception). Busiek has shown that he can handle event-based stories and big casts. Perez is the master of big casts and event books. Plus, as the artist on CoIE, it would be nice to see him cap things off with Final Crisis (bring things full circle so to speak).

Kurt Busiek & Ethan Van Sciver.
Bruce Tim and Paul Dini. If only because turning the DCU into the DCAU would be great.

Mark Millar and George Pérez.
Okay, so Millar's clearly off-limits. In that case... Waid numero uno choice, Busiek second. Both would write an awesome story.
For artist, Pérez is still the BEST there is... obviously McNiven is off limits... same with JRJR... Probably not Jiminez again... Van Sciver has said it's not him...
I honestly don't know.

As long as its not "Team Infinite Crisis" (Johns and Jimenez). I don't mind.

As for a real team I'm gonna go with Mark Waid and Ethan Van Sciver (And I must say, Van Sciver has made me a fan the last couple of years. I used to not be a fan of his at all art wise, and he just gets better and better and better.)
For a fantasy team...I'm gonna say Michael Chabon and Ed Benes.

My Choices:
1) Grant Morrison with Carlos Pacheco or Shane Davis (Morrison with high concept and great superhero pencils)
2) Grant Morrison with Andy and Adam Kubert with issue switchoff so they can have time to finish:rolleyes: Joe on covers
3) Geoff Johns with Ivan Reis (Great Star Wars vibe from these two)
4) Jim Starlin with Mike Mignola (Cosmic Odyssey is the best "crisis" i've read)
5) Mark Waid with Barry Kitson (Legion is currently DC's best book in my opinion, too bad its over with this team)
Don't Want:
1) Jimenez (okay at best)
2) Perez
3) Bryne
4) Ordway
5) Jurgens
2-5, great for their era, too old school for today.

It would be really cool to see Morrison write something like that. And Perez as the artist.

Chuck Austen as the writer/artist , then we can have a three way love triangle between superboy prime , anti-monitor and cyborg superman. ;)
Sinestro & Parallax Kyle looks on as the dejected outsider.

It's really hard for me to say. Undoubtedly, Final Crisis will incorporate bad time travel, just like COIE, Zero Hour, and IC before it.
That said, I'd like to see Perez draw it, like so many others have said. However, I'm not sure he currently has the speed and he did already do one of the prior Crises.
My semi-realistic dream team: Tony Bedard and Tony Daniels.

I get no respect as a troll. Not only am I ugly and scorned by the general populace, but then there is the horrible smell. I mean can you imagine what my room smells like after twelve hours straight of thread crawling? Real bad. Added on top of that is the burden of having opinions more relevant than most. It's hell.;)

Seriously, Batman/Superman is your favorite comic ever?
Did anyone pick Jones as artist?
