Gah.

I'm old.

I bought a lot of those DC's NEW..... I was 14 at the time, one month before I turned 15, when these came out.

Iron-Man 107 by Bill Mantlo, Keith Pollard, and Fred Kida
--the golden era of Iron Man.

Tarzan, Lord Of The Jungle 9 by Roy Thomas, John Buscema, and Rudy Messina
--It's TARZAN.

What If? 7 featuring What If Three Other People Were Bitten By A Radioactive Spider? by Roy Thomas, Don Glut, and company
--This was a fun issue.

DC COMICS!
DC Special Series 8 (The Brave And The Bold: Batman/Sgt. Rock/Deadman) by Bob Haney, Ric Estrada, and Dick Giordano
--Great, great art

Justice League Of America 151 by Garry Conway, Dick Dillin, Frank McLaughlin (FIRST Conway issue)
--I miss Dick Dillin.

Shade, The Changing Man 5 by Steve Ditko and Mike Fleisher
--I bought a few of the issues. Not sure if it was this one. Mostly, I found it a little inexplicable.

Batman 296 by David V. Reed and Sal Amendolo
--I have several David V. Reed issues. I wonder if this is one of the Murder Olympics? No, that was a different artist.

World's Finest Comics 249 with Superman/Batman by Bob Haney, Kurt Schaffenberger, and Tex Blaisdell, Green Arrow/Black Canary by Gerry Conway, Trevor Von Eaden, and Vince Colletta, Wonder Woman/Sgt. Rock by Gerry Conway, Mike Vosburg, and Vince Colletta, and The Creeper by Steve Ditko

--Of course! I think the Tabloid Special was the Lightning Lad/Saturn Girl wedding. Find that for the art, too. Grell outdid himself on the cover.

Teen Titans 53 by Bob Rozakis, Juan Ortiz, and John Fuller
--one of the last issues. I had 'em all.

Detective Comcis 475 by Steve Englehart, Marshall Rogers, and Terry Austin
--yes, yes, yes.

Let's see, I would have been twelve about here, so that's probably why I remember so well, it's when my serious collecting started, though I had issues before this.

Let's see.... what issues did I buy? I know they were all DC at the time, since I had zero interest in Marvel. (Heh, kind of like now.....) I was fortunate to have found a comic shop in mid-1976, so it was like heaven to me.

The list:

DC Special Series 8
Justice League Of America 151
The New Gods 16
Batman 296
The Flash 258
Superman 320
World's Finest Comics 249
Batman Family 16
Green Lantern 101
Superboy And The Legion Of Super-Heroes 236
Teen Titans 53
The Warlord 11
Action Comics 480
Detective Comcis 475
Star Hunters 3
Wonder Woman 240

By the way, all those issues, with the exception of Batman Family and DC Special at 60¢, were priced at 35¢. That's a total of $6.10 there.....

I am amazed at how much work Chris Claremont did. Especially with John Byrnes. For two guys who hated each other, they made quite a team.

It is also cool to see Bill Mantlo's name. Other than G.I.Joe, he was really the writer who drew me into comics.

I really got to remember to send his brother some money. It is a tragedy what happened to him.

I have this!
Though I didn't get it when it first came out. In Nov '77 , I still had two more months in the oven before I was ready to debute.
