I was at Borders yesterday while my car was getting a tune up and I was flipping through the GN section. I noticed the PG book and decided to take a skim through. I'm used to the atmosphere of Gotham City but I'm open to suggestions. :)

Much as I like PG, I think those stories are already widely available and reprinted elsewhere, so this seems to be more of a "completist" collection than anything else.

The art is pretty, but the story is slim.

Powergirl.
In Gotham?
I feel like my perception of reality just caught a left jab to the chin.
Who´s the artist/writer?

The story was kind of "blah" to me, but it was worth it to see Power Girl's cat again.

It's OK. not great. It's basically her 70s stories plus here 2000s mini series with some JSA pages thrown in.
The miniseries is good, the rest just so-so.

Amanda Conner's the artist of the miniseries portion of the book. And Geoff Johns wrote it.

I picked this up last week and was a bit dissapopinted to be honest. The JLA Classified issues are very nicely drawn and mildly entertaining but I found the earlier 'Showcase' issues to be a real bore.
I'm not really a DC guy though, I was just having a bit of a DC binge at my local comic shop (I also picked up Batman: Year One TPB & issues #1-#6 of the latest JLA series, both of which are excellent). Maybe if you're already a big DC fan you'll enjoy it more than I did.

Go for it, it's great!
Plus, it's Power Girl, dang it. That's must buy! :D
No seriously, it's pretty good, but the Classified arc is the highlight.

If you are a Power Girl fan, then the answer is obvious.
If you are not, then the answer is also obvious.

I'm reading the Powergirl tpb right now and am finding it difficult to tread through the 'Showcase' portion of the book. I also noticed I already have one of the original 'Showcase' issues (The one with a couple JSA members on the cover).

I enjoyed the TPB as a whole, but parts of the Levitz & Staton stories just don't hold up to the test of time.
But if you are a Power Girl fan, then you'll enjoy this trade.

I finished the tpb......The more modern parts of the book were a LOT better, it's worth getting the tpb for that, although you could probably just get JSA Classified #1-4 (I think that's pretty much the modern part of the tpb).
