A week after incorrectly identifying Pete Tomasi as the new Batman & the Outsiders writer, Rich Johnston now seems to be implying that Tomasi will be the new Nightwing writer (this week's LITG). Personally, I hope this is another mistake. IMO, Wolfman is doing a great job on Nightwing and I don't see any reason to take him off. (I *know* it isn't Marv's idea to leave.) I have nothing against Tomasi (though I'm not familiar with his work), but this seems unfair to Wolfman (even though he was only promised a year) and it also goes against my "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" philosophy.

Mmm, dunno - I didn't care for Bride and groom at all, but the new arc with Vigilante is fantastic.
TBH, could well be someone pulling Rich's chain again.

I was hoping for Marc Andreyko to take over when Marv left.

Definitely, he did a great job on the annaul.
But I don't want Marv to leave, but if he does then yeah have Marc take over.

...Pete Tomasi...
Who? I'm afraid I haven't heard of Mr. Tomasi. What did he write?

No certainly not. He told me when I met him that he wanted to stay on the book.
Guess someone at DC either was not impressed with what he’s done, or given his track record with the character they expected much stronger sales and since he didn’t deliver he’s gone. I find Marv to be really nice, but the book just bored me to tears and to be frank his Dick is nowhere as confident and cocky as the Chuck’s NW. I picked up #120 and hated the way that Dick (as Robin) behaved in front of Batman.
I don’t know about this Tomasi fellow. But I’d love to see Dixon back on the book. I also echo everyone who said they’d love to see Marc Andreyko on the book. What he did on that Annual was priceless.

Andreyko has also gone on record as saying that he'd like to write Nightwing. I agree with the others: if Marv has to go, I'd like to see Marc get a shot (based on his excellent Nightwing Annual). I would also be happy to see Chuck return however.
But I'm still happy with Wolfman and, quite frankly, the sales are fine. So that isn't it. I think that DC simply is reluctant to do too much with a writer from an earlier era who hasn't done much in recent years. It's a shame, really.
Btw, Dixon has hinted that he will soon be returning to a character he handled earlier, so keep your fingers crossed. I'm hoping for Robin myself, since I know there's a change forthcoming there.
Has Peter Tomasi ever written anything? I know he used to be an editor at DC, but that's about it.

I know he's also writing the Black Adam mini. Not sure what prior work he has to his credit.

Did some research.

"Along with editing such revitalized projects as JSA, AQUAMAN and HAWKMAN, Peter has also made it his priority to work with a number of noted non-comics authors on upcoming projects," says Dan DiDio, VP - Editorial. "He's also busily developing a number of large-scale projects for next year."
So basically he hasn't worked on anything by himself as far as writing goes, or am I misreading that?

I know Tomasi wrote a fill-in arc for Outsiders two years or so ago.
