I want to get a discussion going on Mr. Goldsman. Maybe I don't know enough about him, maybe I've got the wrong impression of him. I have formed a generally negative view of him thanks to two franchises he's adapted: Azimov's I Am Robot and Constantine, the amercanised version of Hellblazer.
Then there was A Beautiful Mind, which took a true-life story and turned into 'Group Theory for Beginners'. It won him an Oscar. This was a mainstream movie with a well known cast and director, only a few years after the Schumacher Batman sequel written by Goldsman.
Am I being fair? Is he a hack or just a workmanlike writer who can deliver. I Am Legend is next...it features a missile attack on NY (don't remember that from the book, but then I remember Constantine and well...)
Thoughts? Questions? Comments?
