I couldn't participate due to muscle cramps but these are all great entries.
I ended up choosing Lewis Rice's work. The cacti, hot blazing sun, flaming footsteps, burning guitar and the colors picked combined made me nearly sweat just looking at it.

howyadoin: Great artwork as usual and probably my number two fave.

Kara Zor El: Clear Dali influences. While i like the design the first thought that sprang to mind was Egypt rather than Summer. I like the surreal approach though.

Tre Styles: Fun characters and defintely summery despite them generating wetness and cold.

marvelboy2004: Great art work as usual and obviously summery. It's always enjoyable to see your tight lines and clear shading.

Jaye: I liked this one as well, maybe not directly because it fits the theme as well as some of the other entries but i like the technique applied, the detailing and the strong black and white contrast.

cleofus: This one was the least summery to me, probably because of the snowy tops which dispell the illusion some, even though i know snow on mountain tops is perfectly possible in summer i associate snow with winter immediately. However i do like the painting on itself with its bold strokes and texture. The painting is great as an illustration since you immediately start wondering what will happen next.

Great job everyone!

I voted for Jaye because it emotes "peace" and "relaxing" . .themes I associate with summer.

I ran into a problem with mine I didn't know how to resolve, so I didn't finish . . alas.

Fun entries everyone.

Thanks for the comments. This is an alaskan scene from up north. So the mountains are pretty much snow capped all year round. At least that's the story I'm sticking to!

When the flush of a new-born sun fell first on Eden's green and gold,
Our father Adam sat under the Tree and scratched with a stick in the mould;
And the first rude sketch that the world had seen was joy to his mighty heart,
Till the Devil whispered behind the leaves, "It's pretty, but is it Art?" ~ Kipling

Well, in this case I can say yes. Beautiful work all... particularly love Howy and Kara's.

I like them all. I'll go with Cleofus's one because apart from the fact it's a great drawing in it's own right and tells a story, and has something a little bit magical in it for me, it reminds me that summer is not just parasols and beaches but also Alaska and Antarctica and places where Summer is something very different to what I know. It's a strange, other summery place where mad bast**ds catch gulls in nets, whilst hurtling along on a buggy, with a bloody big bear chasing them.

And thanks Albert.

And fair enough Pro.

And thanks Albert.

Your certainly welcome.

I don't know if the homage is intentional, but in Howy's, the lizard's tail curving about the foot reminds me of the statue of David, where the feather of Goliath's helmet seems to be caressing David's calf.

About half an hour left of voting!

EDIT: Looks like we have a tie. Therefore I'll have to cast the deciding vote. And since I like both howyadoin and Lewis Rice's this is difficult. As I think howyadoin has won a Draw Off in the past, I'm going to go with Lewis Rice.

Congratulations, Lewis! PM me your mailing address.

And keep an eye out for the next Draw Off in the coming weeks.
