Most big movies for the past forty years have been inseperable from their merchandise-toys, novels, comics, actual props up for auction etc. STAR WARS in particular has been the pioneer of this, although it was not the first film with major tie-ins. Any particular favorites?

AT-AT (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AT-AT)toys........by far the greatest toy merchandise ever. Hell the only thing that was even in consideration for competition was the Jurassic park toy set, but even that couldnt displace the mighty AT-AT

They actually just re-released the AT-AT, although based on it's ROTJ appearence with forest weathering.

Although some walker models are more accurate to the movie, it's probably the best deal.

JP had a lot of merchandise as well; there's also the famous criticism of the film's panning shot of the 'gift shop'. Although if I recall, a lot of that merchandise was just regular dinosaur merchandise, and not what was actually released to tie-in with the film.
