Tony -

I'm getting positive feedback from the readers and I'm loving the dialogue.

I heard one hesitation from a reader. Her concern was that the series ending might suffer from editorial direction.

Is the series meant to put BC in a certain place for continuity? Or is it a fun look into her life leading up to the proposal?

The only thing I disliked about this book was the way Merlyn was handled. He's never seemed like an obsessive villain before.

Black Canary and Sin were done so well, though. I'm glad we're finally getting to see the mother/daughter/big sister/kid sister dynamic after she left Birds of Prey to fill space in Meltzer's book or screw Ollie for forty hours in Winick's. And bringing back her ex, who hasn't shown up or even been mentioned in years, was great. I have a better feeling about the book now knowing Tony's got a good feel for the character.

Looking forward to this week's issue!

Now that you mention it the ex was a genius addition.

She's leading the team in JLA, yes? Meltzer's run has been fun. I'm just not getting sense of team. Its a bunch of heroes thrown at a plot.

I haven't even found Meltzer's run all that entertaining. The first arc was pure nonsense with horrible character interaction, and the issues that crossed over with Justice Society were the worst parts of "The Lightning Saga." The team has no flow, and Dinah isn't even really leading them.

Meanwhile, over in Johns' Justice Society, Powergirl's being treated like a real heroine, a real leader. She's actually giving orders and helping her team mates click, like her motivating the new Citizen Steel in the last issue.

Just read BC #1 and quite enjoyed it. Seemed very consistent with Simone's take on the characters. I didn't even know Dinah had an ex; where was he seen previously?

Chuck Dixon's run on Birds of Prey. He only showed up, I think, the one time- and he hasn't been seen or mentioned since.

I really enjoyed the first issue. I thought the dialogue was terrific and the art was Amazing. Tony wasn't kidding, Sequiera (sp?) is gonna be huge.

Thanks. I've read all those, too, so he must not have made too great of an impression on me the first time. ;)

Dinah's ex, Craig Windrow, appeared in a one-shot special BIRDS OF PREY: WOLVES (I think). I know the art was by Dick Giordano.

It was reprinted in one of the early BIRDS tpbs

Ah, that explains it. I started buying Birds regular with #1, but didn't buy most of the one-shots and minis that preceeded it.
