Welcome to the Sign-up thread for Traitor Game XI: The Plop Thickens! I'll be your host as God Emperor Charon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charon_%28CrossGen%29). If you are new to the Traitor Games and wonder just what the heck they are, many of the earlier Games can be seen by clicking on the links in my signature. Check it out for all the wild and wacky fun. If you're a returning player; Hey guys! Welcome back.
I have quite a bit to go over so please read through my entire introduction before posting the character you'd like to play. In fact, when I'm finished you'll see:

Ok. Now that that's out of the way, here is the basic premise of this game (edited ever so slightly) voted upon at the end of Traitor Game VI:
PROLOGUE Traitor Game: The Plop Thickens
The Emperor God Charon turned the shiny disc over in his hands. He hadn't seen one of these in quite some time. He looked at the Negation Science Officer who had brought it to him. The Officer was kneeling, his head down in supplication. Charon never tired of it.
"Where did this come from?" Charon asked the man.
"We--," the Negation officer began nervously. "We don't know, Lord. It--It just appeared. Its Quantum signature isn't from Negation Space. It originated from another Universe." The Officer closed his eyes tight awaiting th inevitable backlash.
"Interesting."
The Science Officer peaked out with one eye, a little more confident now that he wasn't a smoking ruin. "Its a Digital Disc Storage device, my Lord. We think--"
"I know what it is, Officer. It's primitive but it should suffice." This disc began to spin in Charon's hand. It rose up, suspended in mid-air whirling on both axis until it looked like a little sphere. Light projected out from the disc and suddenly the area around Charon and the Science Officer changed. Soon they stood in the center of a holographic image of a Castle. Charon watched as the Living Tribunal and Dr. Doom wagered against Doom's claim to the Muliverse. He saw the Tribunal teleport his champions into the castle in an effort to stop Doom and watched the events of the last Traitor Game play out. At the end, when the last Traitor was discovered and Doom eventually defeated, the holographic images closed. The disc stopped spinning and floated back to Charon's hand.
"So there is a Multiverse out there," Charon said as he looked to the sky. "Perhaps I should host our own Traitor Game? Was there anything else accompanying this disc?
"Just this, Lord Charon," The Science Officer held up a tiny yellow square of paper. On it was written:
I thought you should see this. -- DJTSH
Charon crumpled the note. "Officer, trace the disc's Quantum signature back to its home Universe and any tangential Universal paths you may find. Have the Technicians prepare to lock in on those coordinates. I'll need them ready in case I want to pursue this. Perhaps with some slight modifications this Traitor Game could supply us with much needed intel. I'd like to see what would happen should the contestants retain some small measure of control."
"As you wish Lord Charon," The Science Officer said as he began to back away.
"Oh, one more thing, Officer. I will be handling the observation myself." Charon finished with his hands behind his back, staring up at the stars.
END PROLOGUE
Also, for the very first time, this Traitor Game will feature its very own game mechanic: The Plop! "What's a Plop?" you say. Well good readers, read on!

Plot Points or Plops as I like to call them.
What are Plops?
Plot Points are events or situations that move the story forward. In the Traitor Game, Plops are descriptive posts which move the game forward. Plops allow Characters to affect the outcome of the game in varying ways. Plops can affect the Game Environment, other Characters, and even the Voting. This gives players a reason to post other than just to vote. It allows them to actively participate in almost all aspects of the game.
Earning Plops
All Players start with zero (0) Plops. Plops can only be earned through role-playing. Role-playing is defined as making posts other than voting posts and interacting with the other players somehow. But if voting only is your thing it’s possible to earn a Plop with only a voting post. It is even possible to earn a Plop with an Out of Character (OOC) post.
Characters can earn multiple Plops over the course of a game. However, Characters can only ever have one Plop at any given time and they can only use one Plop per Round. A Round is the time period between the Traitor Kill post, to the end of the Banishment Round. This effectively means a Character may only ever earn two Plops maximum per Round. Over the course of a game it is more likely that some Characters may only earn one Plop every couple of Rounds or some Characters may never earn any. Plops, once earned, can be carried over from Round to Round. They do not need to be used in the Round they are earned.
How Plops are Awarded
The first way Plops are awarded is at the Host’s discretion. Any time a Player makes a post that the Host considers to be worthwhile, the Host can award a Plop to the Player’s character. This can be anything; an insightful turn of phrase by the character; a humorous in-character flashback post; an OOC post recommending a good restaurant. Host discretion is just that, the Plop can be awarded for anything and at any time. The only pre-requisite is a good post.
The second way is to be nominated by other Players. These nominations could be because of the reasons stated above or just to award a Player’s all around game play. One or two Player nominations in one round, plus Host approval will earn the player a Plop. Three Player nominations in one round will automatically earn the nominated Player a Plop.
Plopping or How to Use Plops
The first way a Plop used is to affect aspects of the game directly. These are Game Plops. The other way Plops are used is to alter the Banishment Vote. These are Vote Plops.
Game Plops
Before any Game Plops can be used, the Player must first declare his intention of using a Plop. Somewhere in the post must specifically state that a Plop is being used. Once that statement exists, then the Player must then describe what he wants to try and change. For example:
Ms. Sunshine wants to find vital clue. She may describe that while searching a room she discovers a knife that could have been used to murder Manly Man. Without a Plop, well, this is just exposition; it means nothing as far as game play. However, with the Plop, well this may very well be the knife used to murder Manly Man and not Blue Tiger’s claws. Does this immediately clear Blue Tiger of killing Manly Man? No, but it may change a couple of votes in the long run, and that could go a long to way to changing the endgame.
Normally, when another Player disputes something another player did, all they have to do is respond to it. Neither statement is necessarily negated nor enforced. However, the only thing that can undo another Players Game Plop is if they use a Plop of their own. Otherwise, Plops become canon, become part of the story. For Example:
General Mayhem thinks Blue Tiger did kill Manly Man. But Ms. Sunshine’s knife Plop is really putting a damper on his claims. That nifty Plop he earned last round sure is going to come in handy now. General Mayhem’s Player states he’s Plopping. In it he says that the wounds on Manly Man are ragged and the knife Captain Sunshine found would have only left clean wounds. Well, that changes everything, and Blue Tiger could now be banished because the other Player’s were swayed by this. But was Blue Tiger innocent or guilty? Is General Mayhem a Traitor protecting his ally? Or is Ms. Sunshine the Traitor? Good questions, only the Plop knows. Well, the Host too but hopefully they’ll never tell.
The Rules of Game Plop
The First Rule of Game Plop is don’t talk about Game Plop. Wait. That’s not right. The First Rule of Game Plop is the Host has final say over all Game Plops. The Plop can be either Approved, Denied, or Changed by the Host. This is to protect the integrity of the game by preventing outlandish posts from being put into play.
Accepted Plops mean that the Host accepts your post as is. Make of it what you will. Build off its premise, make an accusation, or use it as intended.
The Host can Deny a Plop for ANY reason. For example:
General Mayhem has had enough of Captain Arrogant’s accusations. Mayhem Plops that he pulls out his Desert Eagle and shoots Captain Arrogant’s face off. Well, I think the Host is going to deny this one folks.
Be careful of what and how you Plop. Denied Plops are still considered used by the Player. It is lost regardless whether it is Accepted of not.
Changed Plops means the Host has accepted the Plop but has edited it. For Example:
Captain Arrogant is sure General Mayhem is a Traitor. Arrogant Plops that he finds a .50 caliber bullet casing near where Manly Man was killed. The Host accepts the Plop but states that Captain Arrogant finds a .22 caliber shell. But, Mayhem doesn’t use .22 caliber bullets.
Why would the Host edit a Plop? In this case it sounds like a gun was used to kill Manly Man. Here the Host allows the Plop to canonize the death by gunshot, but not that General Mayhem was responsible. Is he removing blame entirely from Mayhem? No. But that’s the Host’s choice to make not the Plopping Player.
The Host can place restrictions on Plops. The Host can specify at what times a Plop can be used, say 6 AM – 11 PM. The Host can state that no Game Plops can be used for a certain round. The Host may also state that no Plops can be earned at certain points in the game.
Always refer to The First Rule of Game Plop: The Host has final say over all Game Plops.
The Rules of Vote Plops
Vote Plops allow Players to cancel another Player’s vote placed on their Character. Anytime during the voting process, when a Character accuses another Character of being a Traitor, that vote can be Plopped. Standard voting rules can still be in effect though, so that Player could still change his vote once per Round but it would have to be placed on a a different character. However, if that Player has a Plop, he can Plop his vote to un-cancel it. For Example:
Blue Tiger doesn’t want to be banished. So when Ms. Sunshine votes for Blue Tiger, the colorful feline Plops Sunshine’s vote cancelling it. Ms. Sunshine doesn’t have any Plops so she changes her vote to General Mayhem.
I’d be wary of a Player Plopping too many votes. Something tells me they may have something to hide.
The Rules of Vote Plop
The First Rule of Vote Plop is the Host has final say over all Vote Plops. Yep, we’re back to this. Honestly, I’m not sure why the Host would want to change a vote Plop but this has to be stated.
The Host reserves the right to limit Vote Plops. He can state that no Vote Plops may be used in a certain round. He can limit Characters to only cancelling one Vote per game, or state that a Character can only have his vote Plopped once. It’s all up to the Host.
Always refer to The First Rule of Vote Plop: The Host has final say over all Vote Plops.
The Secret Plop
So I lied. There is one other kind of Plop. The Secret Plop is sent in the form of a Private Message (PM) to the Host. These Plops can only be used if you want to make a guess to the identities of any of the Traitor Game Role Characters. Typically these are the Secret Agent, Traitor, and Vigilante roles. These Plops are dangerous though. Regardless of whether the guess is correct or not, a Plop is used up, and the Player of the role you are trying to guess is notified, not necessarily the character you guessed. Better be right!
The Rules of the Secret Plop
The Host has final say on all Secret Plops. It’s up to the Host to decide whether the Secret Plop can be brought into play. The Host can limit the use of Secret Plops by stating they may not be used for a specific round. He may limit the use of the Secret Plop to only one successful guess per role. It’s the Host’s game and the use of Plops is his to use or discard as they see fit. As usual, whether the Plop is Accepted or not, it is still spent by the Player.
Let’s take a look at how Plops could be earned and used during a Round:
The Character, Miss Behave, has no Plops. During the course of a round her Player makes a witty OOC post and two Players nominate her for a Plop, which the Host approves. Good for her, Miss Behave now has one Plop. That same round Miss Behave uses her Plop to find an important clue about one of the Traitor kills. She has just used her Plop. Near the end of the voting Round, Miss Behave shoots an intelligent retort at Master Death. The Host finds this remark amusing, so he grants her another Plop. Feeling smug, Miss Behave then tries to use her Plop to cancel one vote on her. Sorry, no can do M.B. You already used your one Plop for the round. However, you can carry your Plop over to the next round.
Last But Not Least
Always refer to The First Rule of any Plop: The Host has final say over all Plops.

Hmm, I think it's worth noting that a character from the Negation universe has already been to that disc's home Universe. It was Evinlea in Traitor Game VII. DTJSH, of course, was Darth Jubba the Sith Hutt, who was hoping to expand his operations into other universes. He was thwarted, but the various DVDs he sent out are still circulating.
(Another DVD he originated was 'The Many Deaths of Batman', but that's another story).
I don't know who I'm going to play here. I'm not sure if I could play any of the characters on your list.

Also, I'd like to make two notes to everybody:
1 - Try to keep Quotations small by selecting specific text and omitting pictures.
2 - Let's not have too much discussion postage in this thread. Instead, let's wait for the actual Traitor Game: Questions and Discussion Thread when it pops up.
3 - Also! I think it'd be pretty cool of everyone if they changed their avatar and custom title text to match who they're playing! Kudos!
Thanks, all.

Lobo will frequently be referred to as Tor (after actor Tor Johnson). The reasons for this are twofold: to distinguish him from DC's Lobo, and to honor the fast and loose continuity of an Ed Wood film. Lobo also hears voices.
The voice is that of Dr. Eric Vornoff, his creator and Master. Vornoff is intent on carrying out his plans for world domination, controlling Lobo from afar by means of mental telepathy. The voice speaks to him in grandiose terms, smothered by a thick Hungarian accent.
Unlike the film, Lobo does speak, albeit in broken english with a heavy "Svedish" accent.
OOC: This being my first Traitor game, just let me know if the character doesn't fit and I will be happy to alter him or make any adjustments necessary.

Oh I've read good chunks of previous games, and have enjoyed them immensely. I'd decided during the last game that once a new one started up, I'd throw a greasy paw in. Of course, now that I've commited myself, I'll be reading through more thoroughly. I'll see you in the Discussion thread. Oh, and whenever Immortus turns up.
It's gonna be weird not seeing you play the actual game itself Joe. One of the TG Originals. But you deserve a break, dude.
Well that's it for me today. I'm gonna be gone for most of the day. Have a good one guys!

But, yeah, I deserve a break. I mean, you took a break yourself (though you did end up playing the Rogue Watcher) and darkkeeperjr frequently dies early in the game (no offense). (We are the only three from every game, right?) I'll still pop in and I'll still be running the other thread. I'll be around if you need me.

Hmm, I think it's worth noting that a character from the Negation universe has already been to that disc's home Universe. It was Evinlea in Traitor Game VII.
While that is true, Charon gets this DVD before the events of the Negation Comic. Evinlea was just pulled from a later timeframe then Darth Jubba sending the DVD to Charon. Either that or sending objects through time and space isn't an exact science.

Bionic Sasquatch lacks a wiki entry or any sort of definitive background on the web. So here's a few "Sasfacts"
- He is "100%" bionic (whatever that means). Because of this, he owns both Steve and Jamie. He's never gone up against Max, to my knowledge.
- His "masters" are a bunch of time traveling aliens who live in a cave near a volcano, who wear bad spandex jumpsuits, have ugly hair, and control him via a goofy wristband. Sandy Duncan and Stefanie Powers both belong to this alien enclave.
- He might just have a crush on Jamie (but who wouldn't?)

For the Plop, some kind of Diana Prince version from DC continuity, can be pre-Crisis.
Not an Elseworlds version.

Anyway, I'm sure tangentman will do great with Wonder Woman.

When will the game actually start, again? I'll be reading Harry Potter all weekend--
I'd like to be Severus Snape (at the end of Half-Blood Prince-- so as to avoid spoilers), but depending on how I feel after reading the last book, may make a last minute switch to Bizarro #1 (DCU).
You had some great choices on the list, Superheroic, but I just don't think I could find a proper voice for most. Wonder Woman's tempting and I did want to play her previously, but as one might guess, I'm on a Harry Potter kick right now.
I would've tried Space Ghost, but he was nabbed right off the bat. If it'd been Zorak or Moltar though, I'd nab 'em up in an instant.

OOC: Right now, I'm working on the final epilogue segment for Goombella and Kitty, in which they kind of set things up for later games before going home.
Trinity -- a tempting choice, but I think I'd have to watch the Matrix movies again to get her character down, and I don't have them on DVD at home. I'm not sure if 'Bullet Time' works outside the Matrix itself by the way, but it's been a while since I've seen the movies.
Rogue -- another tempting choice. I'd have to make sure that I get her voice just right, though. It'd be way too easy to overdo the accent. Of course, I'd also have to wonder which version to play. The one I'm most familiar with is the version from the classic Claremont period. But I wonder if she's really a good choice for a Traitor Game character, all things considered...
Kate -- I can certainly do the 'take charge' bit. But I don't have any of the 'Lost' DVDs and I think I'd have to watch them for a while to get her character down.
But they're all interesting possibilities, anyway. I'll try to think about my choice.

If chosen by someone this game, Trinity absolutely can use all the Matrix powers at her disposal. I leave it up to the player to decide how that would work. Just typing this out now I thought of a couple of cool things. ;)

The Wikipedia pages weren't very revealing for my boy Lobo either, so I have provided a few alternative links and a thumbnail character sketch" for the uninitiated.
http://members.aol.com/hsauertieg/movies/bride.htm contains an exhaustive plot summary for Bride of the Monster, from which I will draw most of his characterization. The character also appeared in Ed Wood's Night of the Ghouls, and a non-Wood film The Unearthly. The Unearthly has Lobo speaking dialogue, uttering such lyrical lines as "Time for to go to bed." Bride and Unearthly were also made into Mystery Science Theatre episodes.
“My dear Professor Strowski, twenty years I was banned from my homeland, parted from my wife and son never to see them again. Why? Because I suggested to use the atomic elements for producing super-beings, beings of unimaginable strength and size. I was classed as a madman, a charlatan, outlawed in the world of science which had previously honoured me as a genius. Now here in this forsaken jungle hell I have proved that I am alright. No, Professor Strowski, it is no laughing matter ... Home? I have no home. Hunted! Despised! Living like an animal. The jungle is my home. Then I will show the world I can be its master. I will perfect my own race of people, a race of atomic supermen which will conquer the world.”
Lobo appears to be one of these "atomic supermen", and the plot, such as it is, involves the Doctor trying to secure an atomic superwoman for his creation, to act as an atomic age Adam & Eve. [Of course, like any Wood film, plot detail and motivations change without warning.]
As for powers and abilities, Lobo is inhumanly strong. Lumbering, dim-witted, servile.... but inhumanly strong. He has a soft spot for attractive females and angora.
If you're not an old B movie lover, the most accessable route to the character would be to see Burton's Ed Wood.

OOC: Well at least his type of immortal can still be done in by being decapitated. Mr. Immortal, who was on Superheroic's recommended list, always comes back from everything, and is apparently destined to still be living on the distant day far, far in the future when the universe ends, after everything else is 'dust in the wind'.
I'm not sure how it'd be handled if the Traitors decided to do in Mr. Immortal. At least immortals such as the MacLeods (Connor and Duncan) can be done in by decapitation, though there is still some room for variation there.

Any character from the fantasy/sci-fi/comic book landscape will do. Just be prepared to play him or her and figure out just how he or she will interact with all the other characters.
Incidentally, the last few Traitor Games have definately had scenes and portrayals that I think would probably deserve Awesome Awards. :)

Mr. Immortal comes back to life off panel. There's no real way for anyone to really keep him down... and no explanation as to why. Banishment to another dimension as a "kill" seems appropriate for immortals, though.

OOC: Well, I'm trying to avoid the overuse of characters myself. I think in this Traitor Game, my previous characters won't have more than brief cameo appearances, unless people ask nicely for things like Goombella's tattles and such. I decided to have Cologne only appear in one epilogue note in the previous game. And I think I'll give Ukyo some time off for a while now, too.
I might play Spider-Girl again in a later Traitor Game, especially since she was on a secret mission for most of the last one and didn't get many chances to interact with the other player characters much. But I'd rather not overexpose her, too. Maybe in a later Traitor Game.
I'm not sure who I'll play here. While it's still tempting to play Dani Moonstar and I probably will one of these Traitor Games (especially now that she's part of the Organization subplot), I think I might play someone else here.

Yeah. Mr. Immortal is easy enough kill. He just comes back. Doesn't change the fact that he's killed, thereby meeting the requirement to be banished. Ares was immortal after all and he was killed.

Well, as Deadpooligan already put it, yes, he is available!
It's just that if he did have a big role in any past games, then you may at least want to check out the games he has been in for the sake of continuity. Although, I suppose it really isn't a necessity, and you can just play as a an 'Alternate 616 Spidey' if that makes any sense.
Either way, I seem to have forgotten my manners!

If you've never read a Traitor Game before I'd suggest reading through a couple just to get an idea of what they are about. There are links in my sigs to all the ones I've participated in. The Purple Skull - Pre-Crisis 'Superdick' Superman (DC)
One small correction I'd like to make. 'Superdick' does not, and I repeat does not, encapsulate Superman from 1938 to 1985. It only encapsulates (at least as far as actual STORY content goes) the Superman from the 50s and 60s under editor Mort Weisinger. When Weisinger retired, so did Superdick. In other words, Superman stopped being a dick most of the time. At least in the actual stories (the popular site, last I checked, uses a lot of covers out of the original context).
All in all, though, it's a good player/character list. It tells not only who's playing who, but where the character originates.
Still trying to decide on my character choice. Another possibility I've considered is Gabrielle from Xena, but I think she might have a little too much in common with characters from my previous two games.

Cosmic characters don't really appeal to me much. I tend to go with characters who are more human at least in personality. (Goombella is a Goomba, but her personality is certainly what some would consider 'human').
I might briefly NPC a cosmic character for exposition purposes (it's possible that the white-robed figure who gave Cologne a possible explanation for why the Traitor Games happen is a 'cosmic character'), but I don't think I could play one as my player character.
Of the three characters on Superheroic's list that he believed might appeal to me, Rogue is probably the one I can look up and rehearse the most. If I'm using the Rogue from the variant Marvel universe my Kitty Pryde comes from (MC-217 is what I'm currently calling it for lack of a better name), then I'd have to refresh myself on just what Rogue was doing between 'Fall of the Mutants' and 'Inferno', unless I wish to take her from earlier in the timeline than that.
There are some drawbacks to using Rogue in a Traitor Game, but I'm not sure I want to go into them.
Gabrielle: The temptation is there, especially since tangentman appears to be playing Wonder Woman. There'd be opportunites to comment on the similiarities between Wonder Woman and Xena. But one of the drawbacks is that I played the 'spunky girl with a wisdom beyond her years' in the previous two Traitor Games. I might want to go with a different character type this time around.

OOC: Well, I'm not familiar with Samurai Jack and I don't play characters whose source material I'm not familiar with.
Let's see... I think right now it's a choice between Rogue, Dani Moonstar, and Gabrielle, unless I get both the DVDs of the Matrix movies and Lost, and actually have the time to watch them all. It'd be tempting to play Kate, who can take a leadership role but has a shady past. But I don't think I could get her character down without watching several episodes of 'Lost' in a row.
So I think Kate and Trinity are still open to those who wish to take them.

A shame about Jeff-E. He was great in all his characters, be it the robotic bounty hunter Death's Head (oops, I meant freelance peacekeeping agent), Ronan the Accuser (and his rivalry with the Super-Skrull), two versions of Quinn Mallory (one evil), and a character based on himself (the ordinary guy caught in a crazy mess in Traitor Game VI). I think it'd be great to have him back, but I understand if real life isn't giving him the time to contribute.

Of course, if you want to play the Golden Age Wonder Woman, feel free to do so. The Golden Age heroes I NPCed in the 'secret mission' are the counterparts from Earth 597-x or wherever that Earth was (I referred to it as Earth ??? just to be on the safe side). That alternate world had the Golden Age DC and Marvel heroes living on the same Earth.
Anyway, I'm sure you'll do great with the 70's Wonder Woman.
By the way, for those still watching the previous game thread, be sure to catch the brief peek into a weird alternate universe and some more fun commercial tie-in products, as well as Kitty (not Goombella) almost but not quite breaking the fourth wall in her epilogue. The 'curtain call' pics will come either this weekend, or when it's clear everyone's finished their epilogues, whichever comes first.

There are now two other characters I'm considering.
With both Indigo Al and tangentman choosing characters from 1970's TV, I thought maybe I'd play a character from the classic Battlestar Galactica.
In the 90's, I RPGed at the Battlestar Galactica Club (which originated on the Prodigy service and now has its own web site and forum. Warning: It's an original series only site, and doesn't discuss the recent Sci Fi channel series set in a strange alternate BG universe). I played Brie, a minor character who canonically only had speaking parts in three episodes at the most, and who didn't really have that much of a back story besides being a shuttle pilot who trained to be a Viper pilot when most of Blue Squadron was ill.
Now that I'm more confident in my role-playing, I might instead play Sheba in the Traitor Game (I DID advertise the Traitor Game at the BGC forum again, but still no one from there has come to sign up), as I think it might be interesting to have a character from the original Battlestar Galactica be involved in the Traitor Game. It'll probably be easier to get pics of Sheba to make avatars from, anyway.
This isn't my final choice. I'm still considering Rogue.
By the way, Superheroic, can you get some avatars of Sheba and of classic Chris Claremont edited by Louise Simonson era Rogue?

As Chris Lang alluded to when I made my character choice, would it be spoiling Harry Potter stuff for anyone if I made references or out and out stated events from "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince?" I realize the book had been out for a good while, but some people only watch the movies.

In order to encourage people to play 'Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door', I kept spoilers to a minimum when I had Goombella speak of or think back to events of the game. I included just enough info to possibly get people interested in the world she comes from, but didn't have much specific storyline spoilers. I think I did pretty good there.
Snape is a very complex character, who gets more complex as the series goes on. I hope you do well with him, even though he's certainly darker than most of the characters you've played before.

Very well, then. I'll be sure not to tell you that Voldemort and the Death Eaters (huh. sounds like a rock band) are defeated by highly marketable spear-carrying teddy bears. 'Rosebud' is really the sled belonging to Harry's father. And I certainly won't breathe a word about Ron being a ghost the entire time.
Thanks, Chris. I hope to do well with him too. It'd be difficult to not give away spoilers as HBP seems to be a very busy time for Snape. I'm thinking I'd have to use OoTP Snape. That way I can allude to future events without spoiling them, hopefully.

Better late-ish than never! So I was tempted to go with Jack Bauer or Tony Soprano, but in both cases I felt like I would end up playing a pastiche of the character instead of the character itself (though it was still very tempting to play Jack and preface every RP with "The following takes place between post #43 and post #45," and so forth).
Aaaanyway, after taking all sorts of forever to think of someone, I stumbled across some of my older DVDs and found a show that, fanbase be damned, I had many, many fond memories of. As such, what the hell, let's give this a shot. I, GoGo Yubari, hereby declare my intention of playing as...

I don't see why not. After all, back in Traitor Game VII, the Purple Skull played Dick Dastardly, and brought along Muttley with him (because Dastardly just isn't complete without Muttley along for the ride). So sure, Negi can bring along his talking armine partner.

Question: what is the Traitor Game, and what happens in it? Is it a standard RP?
The Traitor Game involves role-playing. We take characters from comic books, movies, television, anime, and elsewhere within the whole fantasy/sci-fi/pop culture landscape and bring them all together for a 'whodunnit' scenario.
Three of the player characters will be chosen by the host to be the 'Traitors'. For the Traitors, the goal is to do in the other players one by one, with one 'murder event' per round. For the other players, the goal is to find out who the Traitors are, and banish them by voting them out.
For further info, check out this thread (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=182749), but come back here to sign up because HERE is where you sign up for the Traitor Game. Just pick a character, and be prepared to play him/her for the game. Try to think about how he or she will react to the other characters and the events of the game.
For many of us, a lot of the fun comes from the characterization, and seeing how all these characters from different sources interact with each other.

Just in case, here's a quick explanation of the Traitor Game roles, though more can be found in that thread I linked to.
There are four specific roles.
1. Traitors, whose 'codename' varies from game to game. They will try to murder as many of the non-Traitors as possible. There will be at least 2 or 3 of them.
2. Agents. Their codename also varies from game to game. They are allowed to PM guesses as to the Traitor's identity to the game's host (i.e. "I think Darth Vader is one of the Traitors. Am I right?"). If their pick is guilty, they will try to persuade the other players to vote for their pick. If not, they will presumably try to persuade people NOT to vote for their pick if it looks like the person in question is about to be voted off. These will be one or two people, and it's recommended they keep their role secret until the end of the game.
3. Vigilante. This is a player who is out dispense his/her own kind of justice. He/she is allowed to kill whoever he/she believes might be one of the Traitors. The problem is, he/she might end up doing in an innocent person.
4. Breaker. If there is a tie during the voting round, this person gets one extra vote to break the tie.
Anyone who doesn't have a specific role is a regular player. Their job is to try to figure out who the Traitors are and banish them. Players are banished by being voted off. The one who gets the most votes is banished.
I hope this helps.

As far as accent goes, I understand what you're talking about. The accent is one reason I'm a bit hesitant to play Rogue, as I'm not quite as good with accents as, say, Schornforce for example.
And speaking of Pirates of the Carribean, I'm still considering a scenario based on it, but it needs a LOT of work. See the discussion thread linked in one of my above notes for more details.

OOC: Exactly. In Traitor Game VIII, Goombella, the Warners, Chairman Kaga, and Owlman still had interesting and fun things to do even after being eliminated, and in Traitor Game IX, the same could be said for Ares, Grimlock, Bob and Karl, and a few others I could mention. :)

OOC: As far as accent goes, I understand what you're talking about. The accent is one reason I'm a bit hesitant to play Rogue, as I'm not quite as good with accents as, say, Schornforce for example.
It's not that hard.
Like, say if I were Rogue... though I'm not normally one for playing the opposite gender much...
"Well, ah must say y've at least got th' southern accents down, darlin'."

OOC: Ah, Tia Dalma. An interesting character choice.
Thank you for the compliment regarding accents, Chris.
For Rogue, her accent isn't too difficult: "Why, all yah need ta do is tah-ype lahke alla' those "I" sounds are actually "ah" sounds, sugah. Also, yah may wanna' 'membah that for th' extreme southahn accent, some a' th' words may be shortened a bit. Check out comic strips of Walt Kelly's "Pogo" fer ref'rence.
...
As for Tia Dalma, I wish I could help, but I couldn't understand a thing that blasted woman said in either movie. She needed subtitles or signs to hold up or something. I assume it was supposed to be a very heavy Carribean accent. The best I could do as a recommendation is Jamaican like Sebastian from "The Little Mermaid." But I'm probably way off with that.

I think with accents you just have to do enough to get the point across. Just drop some 'Sugah's' on us and drop some 'in' instead of 'ing' and that should be enough. It gets to be too hard to read too much accented dialogue.
This was also one of the reasons Cap offed Meowth by the way. :evilsmile

Well I had NO problem reading Meowth's dialogue at all. In fact, I loved the whole approach Schornforce took with Meowth, and thought it added a lot to the fun of the character, having his little narrative be in the accent like that.

But you wouldn't want her to. It's not pleasant, even when the effects are temporary. That's one reason I'm both tempted to play Rogue, and another reason I'm a bit awkward about it.
But maybe I'll give it a go anyway. Since it seems like a mostly powered characters scenario, maybe she'd be the better choice than some of the other characters I've considered (most of whom are ordinary humans with weapons).

LOL - Hmmmmm. Prez died because I think Spider-Man voted for you and I wanted to set him up and it wouldn't require superpowers to do it. Plus Cap would never kill the President, right? ;)

Hah Hah! I didn't say I didn't enjoy the accent. I actually liked your roleplaying in that game. In every game actually. But I knew it would really mess with Ukyo, which was the real reason Cap had to off you. :D

Well, I was planning on playing something closer to the late 1980's era Rogue, who doesn't nearly have as much baggage on her (but still plenty of angst and all sorts of problems).

In that case, I have dibs on Dr. McNinja!

Don't sweat it Albert. I think my very first post on these forums was in the Traitor Game IV (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=150529) sign-up thread!
I joined the CBR forums specifically to play this game. If I can I'd like to be Green Lantern! (Hal Jordan of course!)

Well, at this point, I'm leaning toward Rogue, though Sheba is my second choice if there are any objections.
She'll be from the same universe that my Kitty Pryde (from Traitor Game IX, who showed up again to help Spider-Girl in Traitor Game X) is from, where the events of 'Inferno' happened recently as opposed to years from now, and things that happened after that either won't happen or will happen differently. I call that alternate world MC-217 for lack of a better term.
Anyway, she'll appreciate it if a certain cosmic bald guy with a goatee stopped snooping on her. :)

Well, in a way, she won't be the first character I've played with a specific accent. Goombella sort of has an accent, or at least a very distinct speech pattern. I'll see if I can manage Rogue's accent.
But ah'll try not to overdo it... :)

And remember, she's got the Carol Danvers psyche in there, so it would be logical that she'd lapse out of her southern accent every now and then.

Well, we've kind of overused Batman in that role, but maybe he'll have one or two more deaths before we finally retire that running gag in Schornforce's scenario (or will we? Stay tuned). Another possibility is Kenny McCormick, but he's kind of too obvious a candidate for that role.
