You're sitting alone at home one day when the room is suddenly filled with clean, beautiful white light. A warm, reassuring voice comes out of nowhere and says, "Call [a local number] and introduce yourself." Then the voice disappears and the light fades, leaving you with a feeling of peace and well-being.
Do you call the number?
õ
Just curious!

The first thing I do is check if I've done drugs. If not, then I assume my brain is playing tricks on me (as it has in the past) and completely forget about it.

Heh. Well, yes, we're assuming that you haven't done any major hallucinogins prior to the experience.

That would be too easy!

If I'm sure it was real, yeah, I'll call. Curiosity would definitely make me want to know who's on the other end...

I'll call but will give a false name, cause I always start new relationships with a lie.

You call the number and introduce yourself. A beautiful melodious voice thanks you for calling and tells you that you've been chosen for a special purpose, one that will leave you richer than your wildest dreams, sought after by people around the world for your insight, and a life span of double the human average. All you have to do is press I-AGREE on your touch tone phone.
What do you do next?
PRESS I-AGREE? TURN TO PAGE 82.
ASK QUESTIONS? TURN TO PAGE 160.
WISH YOU HAD GOTTEN RID OF THE DIAL PHONE YOUR GRANDFATHER LEFT YOU? TURN TO PAGE 21.
HANG UP AND START DOING SOME OF THOSE DRUGS JEFF WAS TALKING ABOUT? TURN TO PAGE 9.

Didn't we agree hypotheticals should never be used under any circumstances?

Yeah, why not? It's just a phone call.

No.

Pat attention, please.
But what if we had agreed that they shouldn't be used?
Would you still feel the same way?

Yes, I'd call. There seems to be no risk in refusing to do so.
I'd like to add another hypothetical to this though.
What if someone was in the room with you when the light came and the voice spoke, but the other person didn't experience it. They saw and heard nothing. Would you call the number then?

Sure. What's the worst that could happen?

Light can be clean? Man I really have to wash my electromagnetic radiations.

Would you try to convince the other person that it happened? Would you call in secret?

Would you try to convince the other person that it happened?
Probably not.
Would you call in secret?
Nah. Just call and see what happens.

:D Comment of the week.

It's the police outside. You suddenly wake up and find you're in a crack fortress and the past 10 years have been one big haze.
OT, I'd slap myself to see if I was dreaming, then I'd probably have a wank just to be sure, if it was a dream someone would walk in and it would get awkward. Sure that it's not a dream I'd answer.
