How's life treating you?

Pretty good, damn math classes are kicking my ass, somehow getting an A in Finite Math, yet i'm still not sure what it is.
...It's ok that we are doing this, because Cronin is going to merge it later.

Nice one.
Knowing Cronin, he'll probably lock us down and change the title of the thread to "Stony and Alex have reunion sex"
What do you think of this new signature btw? Does it make me look fat?

I tend to be against the word exeunt, exit works just as well.
Exeunt makes people say "Oh, well, he's just being a prick isn't he?"
Unless they have some oldtimey word in their sig, like usurp.

Fair enough, I stole it from Warry anyway... No doubt he'll send me another e-mail calling me a... well, Cronin won't let me say that here...
Remember the days of the Felicity-love on the Warren Ellis Forum? Way to maintain the "bovver-boy" reputation there, guys

Does Warren Ellis still write?
I kinda stopped buying monthlies when Planetary went on it's year break, read a few things from him that were eh, and haven't read anything about him since.
Maybe some new analouges?(Not superheroes!)

He is still writing, probably more so now than he has in a while... Not sure whether you'd like most of it though...
Someone will probably recommend FELL, one-off stories about a cop which is good but... not unmissable. And I didn't get this NEXTWAVE fever at all really
I've become hooked on this new one by Garth Ennis though, WORMWOOD, which is pretty similar to PREACHER... but with better art.
Yeah, I said it.

Yeah, I said it.
Dillion is the most realiable artist ever. Because all his characters look exactly the same, and that comforts me.

More than liquor?
More than liquor?
Liquor has nothing to do with my taste in comics.

We should put the band back together... Thrive... Mr. Blond... Bright-Raven...
Then again...

Then again...
I heard thrive was homeless, or dead, or something.
I've seen bright raven here, but whatever happened to Blond?

Iraq threads are popping up because we are definitely nearing the End of the Affair, at least as far as the American involvement is concerned.
The Democrats may not have delivered yet on their midterm promise to end it all, but there is some political movement now with a few Republican representatives defecting to the other side. The real timetable, however, is not set in Washington but in Iraq, where the US military is simply unable to keep fighting the insurgency for much longer than a year or so. The continued strain is causing internal problems, and not just in terms of recruitment.
The path towards this inevitable outcome was set in stone in 2003 when they began to occupy. We have almost reached that final destination; and that deserves a little attention.

I pick "Other - The thread starters are either too lazy or too stupid or too inconsiderate to look for the Iraq War Megathread (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=115633) and post there instead of polluting the main page with the same thread over and over and over."

Actually, the thread wasn't ment to be serious, and was more about that.
the day i posted it, it was early in the morning, and 3 new iraq threads had popped up. The same people were posting in all of them (And this was more about time of day then the topic itself) and i had thought cronin consolidated them all into that megathread.
So...i agree, but i wasn't angry, just bored.
Well...a lot of people talk about impeachment--and I'm one of those.
But aside from: anger at the way things are going in Iraq and Afghanistan, a lot of remarkable and questionable circumstances regarding past or present relationships to industry, federal mismanagement bordering on the stupid and/or criminal, and some rather irksome liberties taken, by the executive branch, with other branches of government, and the privacy of the American people at large; what hard evidence do we have as of this moment to impeach the President and Vice President? What, so to speak, should definitely hold up in court, is what I am asking?
I've been imagining a list, of sorts, which so far is not working out that good on legal grounds, as far as I can see (I'm no lawyer).
To me the biggest point, so far, that cannot be misinterpreted, or re-interpreted to the advantage of the President, is the allowance of torture of foreign nationals--but even that is strictly in violation of Geneva Conventions, and not the US Constitution (which of course makes no mention of torture--outside of "pursuit of happiness" perhaps); supposing then that Bush can be brought before the International Court for war crimes (ala Milosevic), but so far: not the House and Senate.
Perhaps they are waiting for the American people to do something?
Here's what I can think of, just off the top of my head, that need to be worked through as to whether they would hold up (at least) with the confines of the United States...
1) Abuse of Executive Powers--spying on citizens of the United States, throwing people in jail without due process.
2) Obstruction of Justice--and I can't understand why the Congress doesn't call them on this of most obvious reasons (e.g. re-interpreting the law so that your subordinates don't have to testify?! WTF?!)
3) Incompetence--maybe not crazy, but major errors of judgement have definitely been made; and if not crazy, or stupid, then criminal activity is the only other possibility (which brings us back to "1" and "2").

Iraq keeps popping up, because we're all pissed off about the war for one reason or another. Threads are a good place to vent I guess. I don't even post in Iraq threads anymore. Like many political threads, they get too "bitchy" after a while.

I just linked to it twice in the same page!I started one of those nauseating Iraq threads, so I guess I'm one of the douchebags you're talking about. The reason I did was very simple. I looked back through the last 3 or 4 pages of topics, didn't see any Iraq topics, and decided to make one. That simple.
And if they're so offensive to you, don't read them. There's no need to be a jerk about it. Not everyone on these boards have been Comm. Forum regs since the mesozoic age, so just relax.
