Not that surprised myself and I'm oddly drawn to it. I've only ever read a couple of books by Joe Casey and I think most of them were his issues of WildC.A.T.S - but I liked them.
And with Liefeld only doing the covers, it has to come out at least 7 or 8 times a year!

I'm finding myself strangely interested in this re-re-re-re-relaunch of the Youngblood property. Of course, I'd much prefer that the creative team be Alan Moore & Steve Skroce again - I absolutely loved that version of the team.
It's especially interesting that the book is being published by Image - does this mean that Rob Liefeld may show up for the Image founders panel at SDCC?

I have a funny feeling you'll see Rob at that Image panel, yes.
Hopefully, CBR will have the video cameras there for that panel. I hope I hope I hope.
And since Rob is only doing covers, I look forward to seeing this book see the light of day, doubly so with the hardcover. Casey did a nifty job reimagining YOUNGBLOOD #1 already. . .

Really? Which iteration was that? Did he re-script the original mini or something? It's amazing the number of times that Rob has tried to relaunch the book - wasn't there both a Kirkman version and Mark Millar one at some point?

There was a book that came out in San Diego maybe three years ago. Maybe two? It was oversized and in either softcover or hardcover. It was YOUNGBLOOD #1 with some pages mixed in from other Youngblood books. Casey rescripted the whole thing, and it made a lot more sense while poking a little bit of fun at the art, if you were paying attention.
I think it eventually made PREVIEWS, but Rob's been selling it at conventions for the past couple of years. There was supposed to be more but, well, you know Rob. . .

And, yes, Millar did the BLOODSPORT mini, of which only one or two issues came out. Then Kirkman was writing one, but I don't think he ever finished it.

You already knew about this when you posted your response yesterday, didn't you?
All 7 Image Founders at Comic-Con panel (http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=11132)
Can we conscript Jamie to be a CBR reporter for this panel? The nostalgia factor is kicking in and I can't wait to see the report on this one. Think we'll see a Robert Kirkman confrontation again?

that mighty be the only chance to see this book get back to live an stay there without being shot every 3 oder 4 issues. :D
and:All 7 Image Founders at Comic-Con panel?
since i missed a lot of action, in the last 7 years, can this be some kind of "reunion"? will wildstorm get back to "image" too, along with top cow? i donīt know....

Reed - Nah, this will just be a nostalgia trip, getting all of them together. It'll be interesting to hear about the reaction Liefeld gets. He was the only founder who didn't talk to George Khoury for the book. (I'm reading it right now. Aside from the occasional typo, there's some good stuff in there.)
Trip - I didn't know about that in advance, but I did squeal with glee when I got that press release yesterday.
I'm just hoping TwoMorrows plans on recording this to release in their podcast stream in August. Fingers crossed.
I talked to Jonah about it last night. He will have a reporter there, I believe.

Don't forget the three Alan Moore issues (out of twelve) that saw print.
Oh, nevermind. Apparently, with great relief, most people have.

Yeah, but the Alan Moore issues didn't come out because the company folded. That's a different situation entirely from the BLOODSPORT saga, or that other one that had Kurt Busiek's name on it but may or may not have had anything to do with Kurt.
