And, yes, they can party. Damn, those ladies have stamina. I never get to sleep before 2 a.m.

No sexual debauchery, however, so get those lesbian fantasies out of your minds, lebians and male heterosexuals.

It's in Dallas, at a hotel only 4.7 miles from Zeus Comics. (Love mapquest.) I sense a taxi ride happening....now where did I put that Batwoman t-shirt...

I'll be back on Monday. I'll try to take pics.

Do everything I would do while I'm gone. :)

Hello to the romance world from Mercedes Lackey and Larry Dixon. :)

And Zeus is AWESOME. You must go there!

I did visit Zeus! And I have the photos to prove it. Richard is just as charming and smart in person as on-line.

And the store...oy! I dragged my roommate with me and she snagged some Invader Zim, a Cyberman, Godzilla Shirt, and a few Godzilla movies. She was very impressed. I was very impressed.

Especially at the presence of the playset of Giles' Library. As soon as she gets her next royalty check, she's calling and ordering it so her new Giles action figure can have a home, along with her regular librarian action figure. (She's a librarian. Well, a former librarian. She gets paid to write now.)

I picked up a new warmup jacket (FLASH) and the last three issues of "Honor Brigade."

Much fun in Dallas. I got some requests for my work, so I'll be working hard to get those submissions out in the next three weeks. Also, I bought a new coat, which I had to model for Richard, because it's just that kind of coat. A black suede three-quarter length evening jacket with muted sequins. I had to show it off even in Zeus.

But I had red and black leather on Friday night. I think there's a photo here:

It's missing the full effect of the boots, though.

Is this Sunday at Matt's Comics still okay for you Corrina?

Yep, Sunday's still good for me, Jim.

I have to go and fix lunch for the boys but I really have to tell the story of how I squished boobs (fully clothed) with Nora Roberts.

Well, I am friends with author Patricia Gaffney, a lovely person with a very classy exterior that hides a very twisted mind.

I was talking to Gaffney and a first-time conference attendee between workshops and the other attendee said even though she runs a website where a lot of romance authors hang out that she was getting all fan girl meeting people in person. I said understood because--I pointed to Nora who was standing about five feet away--that's the author I go fangirl for, because I adore her JD Robb series.

I'd said I'd melt if I talked to her.

Gaffney, who is good friends with Nora, took this as a challenge, introduced me, and then forced us to hug 'bosom to bosum," she said. After I finished stammering, I think Queen Nora for writing her books and hopefully managed to sound halfway intelligent.

But I am glad I didn't say "well, I've always loved the idea of jumping off a roof but I'm too afraid," because I fear Gaffney would have hauled me off to a roof and given me a push. :)

Gaffney writes contemporary women's fiction with some romance elements, including a book about a circle of cancer patients that I think was her big breakthrough after some romance historicals. There's one historical set in the American Wild West, in San Francisco that's really good and now I can't remember the name. It starts out with her heroine disguised as a nun to pull a scam.

Oh, and for SF fans, I have to note that Sherrilyn Kenyon wore a full-size Black Swan on her head during the big book signing. It was quite eye-catching but she said it's nothing compared to what she wears to SF cons.
