I'm reading #1 of green lantern of series 3 and I have to say so far I'm impressed. Though I'm starting to get impressed with Hal and his series, In my mind Kyle will be way better as green lantern and will always be my favorite. But if Hal Jordan in his 3rd series continues to be good and keeps my attention then Hal will be my second favorite green lantern. I have a question in book #1 of V3 with Hal, Hal and Jordan are using there rings on a yellow space ship, but I thought Hals ring and maybe Jordans ring had a weakness to yellow? but here in the comic there cutting thru the yellow ship with a green beam like its nothing.

Ever since Rebirth the yello weekness is more of a rookie thing that experienced GLs can overcome.
Wikipedia is a good source:
"Stories in 2006 retconned the ring's longtime lack of effect on yellow objects, stating that the ring-bearer need only feel fear and overcome it in order to affect yellow objects."

cool thanks. When did they bring back Coast City, in Rebirth mini? Right now Coast city looks deserted, I wonder if it will be repopulated again. I'm on issue 3 of Green Lantern series 3 and Hal is battling what appears to be a new and improved Man Hunter.

ah, but I wonder if it will ever be repopulated again. I also wonder who is the grandmaster person that the new improved manhunters appear to answer to?

If Hal ever gets back with anyone, I want Hal to get back together with Greeen Lantern Arisia again. Well in Issue #13 in V3, it goes into a little detail that he hooked up with Arisia, so I want him back with her again.

IMO this is the best monthly comic DC has put out since it's relaunch, Geoff really gets who Hal is and his repackaged rogues are top notch. My favorite issues are the Black Hand, Shark, Hammond ones done by EVS and Simon Bianchi. But the series goes to another level during OYL, and has been as good a GL book ever since then and now with the Sin Corps Geoff has a chance of being known as the GL writer.

This is Volume 4.
And yes, best DC book out right now, no doubt about it.

I actually dropped the title just before OYL, and then had to turn around and start collecting it again due to the abrupt change of pace and lift in stories.

sorry my bad, I thought it was V3. Too Bad I can't change the Thread to V4.
I read the current Green Lantern series with Hal Jordan and I liked how he rescued the Green Lanterns from the Manhunters, even though he betrayed them.

I got a GL related question.
In the sinestro corps, is that going to take place within the GL books or will it be its own like 6 or 7 issue mini series? If its in the GL books which ones will it run in? I got the one shot sinestro corps special already, didnt read it yet though.
I want to make sure I get it but Im not a avid GL reader.

The Sinsestro War will take place in Green Lantern & Green Lantern Corps. The Zamorans is another storyline waiting to build up. I see the Zamorans & the Sinestro Corps make some kind of unholy alliance at some point...

It's pretty repopulated after OYL, plus if you've gotten to the Arisia story you've seen the new Grandmaster person and it's pretty damn awesome huh?

I believe there will be another 4 one shots covering it as well.

"One Year Later"
It'll make more sense around issue #9 of GL.

I haven't been following the series in monthly format but have been reading the tpb's so I'm not quite up to date - but really enjoying it.
What I'd love to see is an arc reunited GL & GA, just for old time's sake. (But then again, compared to many of the posters on this site, I suppose I'm an old-timer).
By the way, speaking of old-timers, my memory is fuzzy, but does anyone remember what ever happened to the "old-timer" ex-guardian character from the O'Neil-Adams series? Did he die in that series, or get his powers back. I suppose I could un-bury my old back issues and look it up, but I don't have a lot of time on my hands these days.
And while I'm at it. I always really liked Katma Tui - I know they killed her off pointlessly about 15-20 years ago, but perhaps Superboy could punch something and bring her back (heh, heh).

Katma Tui has been replaced in the Corps by another Korugarian cutie called Soranik Natu, genius surgeon turned GL. Given that Soranik is such a cool character, it's doubtful they'll bring back Katma when they've brought back so many other former dead GLs recently.
As for the Old Timer, he went bat$#!* crazy and kidnapped dozens of alien cities to create the Mosaic World on Oa. This was the subject of the excellent GL:Mosaic series that was John Stewart's high water mark in comics thus far. Hal was eventually called out of semi-retirement to deal with the Old Timer and this storyline ended in the Old Timers' death.

I'm loving all things Corps-related at the moment. The solo series is DC's second best book right now (JSA is #1 for me), and the GLC series has also been very good.

Actually in issues #7 and #8, Hal and Ollie re-team to take on Mongul 2.

I find it strange for Hal who is a green lantern to work for the military. So far in his new series the military called the green lantern, and I know it was for a good reason and he went running to the military.

Ok one last question.
I picked up GL 21 today, it said sinestro corps part 2 on the cover. What is part 1?
I looked and GL 20 didnt say it was part 1 and GL corps didnt say it either.

Hal was in the military before he was a test pilot.

Natu vs. Sinestro. Doesn't sound like much of a fight. But I guess she'll have the rest of the Corps to back her up... what's left of them.
