From the previews I have been reading I am becoming more interested in NOVA. I am ccurious if you all think it;s worth the 2.99 a month to read?

I have never really been into the cosmic end of Marvel, it always seemed to big for me. I loved Quasar and I am familiar with the character but I have not read Annihilation.

So do I read or do I browse it in Barnes and noble when a trade comes out.

Nova is one of my favorite books right now. It would be a good idea to read Annihilation, though. It explains some of the things you might need to know in order to understand Nova's ongoing. Also, his book is going to tie in to Annihilation: Conquest starting with issue #4...

I rather like it.

ANNIHILATION is definitely recommended, but it's by no means required reading to get into NOVA. #1 picks up at a fairly new-reader-friendly place.

Nova #1 basically summarizes the whole Annihilation thing anyways. You should get Annihilation, but only because it's more worthy of being read than just about any other comic out there, but it's not required. Nova is awesome though; you'll appreciate it with or without Annihilation, but its SOOO much better after having read it. So, in the end, I guess you could go either way. They're both definitely worth the money though.
Peace.

Nova is great at the moment, and it only looks to get better. I would also recommend picking up Annihilation; best series of 2006 in my opinion.

annihilation was way better than Civil War. you can just pick up Annihilation Saga which summarizes the whole story pretty nicely and in chronological order. i DEFINATELY reccomend you pick up the Nova annihilation prequel miniseries as it explains how Nova gets as powerful as he is now, not to mention it is just as funny as a deadpool comic.

I would also recommend picking up the Annihilation: Conquest Prologue, as it will explain a lot of what is going on in Nova #4. That and it's a great read. Also, since you like Quasar you may be interested in the new mini coming out staring Wendell's successor to the mantle, Phyla.

If you loved Quasar, you'll at least strongly enjoy Nova.

So far it has been a very good comic with both excellent art and interesting writing.

I highly recommend it.

I suppose what I meant when I said that Annihilation was recommended was how Nova came to be so powerful. So, my mistake. It actually occurs in Nova's Annihilation Mini tie-in...

Hi, Dan!

Yep, Nova is my favorite series right now. I'd definitely recommend the Annihilation Prologue and the Annihilation: Nova mini (both of which are in the Annihilation HC #1). Annihilation is also a spectacular series but the Annihilation Saga one-shot will give you a great summary of the event if you're on a budget.

Let us know what you think after you read it!

Basically I break it down like this:

Are you interested in Nova?

If yes procceed to the Annihilation Prologue and the Nova Annihilation mini series.

Did you like the Nova Annihilation mini series?

If yes then procceed to the Annihilation mini series if not then stop.

Did you like the Annihilation mini series?

If you liked the Annihilation mini as well then proceed to the ongoing Nova book, if not and you liked the Nova mini series more skip right into the Nova ongoing book.

I just read issue three of Nova. I've decided I don't ever want Rider to come back to Earth. The story was kinda lame. I like him destroying aliens more.
