It does. I hope they do this right. Make the issues less expensive than printed comics. Have back issues online. Maybe get some of DC's printed stuff online as a tryout.

This is the sort of thing I've been waiting for ages to happen. It can work and it's encouraging to read that it won't be cranking out filler superhero fayre, but will have a wide range to appeal to a wider audience. I hope this works out and comic readers encourage it; assuming the material is good enough of course.

Man, I'd been waiting for either of the big guys to get into this. Honestly, I thought Marvel would've gotten into it first. The whole idea sounds great, and Jonah did an excellent job asking all the right questions. Except one.

Writers unattached to artists? Not happenin', right? Seems like most webcomics are written and drawn by the same person anyway.

I think this is a good solution/compromise.

By not making mainstream DC stuff available online, they avoid angering comic book stores, and by having it being a totally separate imprint, it allows them to try new stuff out.

I'll give it a try.

I will also have to give this a try next time I buy comics online.

Has anyone seen this from yesterday's New York Times?

I have no interest whatsoever in online comics.

I spend enough time in front of a computer monitor... and don't want to have to spend even more time in front of one.

I have a friend who takes his laptop to bed with him so he can read comics he's got on his computer... that also has NO interest for me whatsoever.
