How would it change him? What do you think his new powers would be?

I think he would become unstable and blur the lines between hero and villain but not really become truly evil. It might unleash his vengeance and I could see him hunting some of the villains in his rogue's gallery with the intent to kill them once and for all. He does have strong willpower so I wonder if he could infiltrate the Sinestro Corps with the secret intent to take them down from the inside. Maybe there would be varying degrees of the ring's influence and he starts out less in control but later he conquer's its influence and is able to control the fear.

Too bad DC doesn't have the balls to do this because it would make for a good backdrop for the other batman books as well as the DC universe.... I almost think Batman would be a better match for Parallax heheh...

Any ideas on how you think Batman would use the Yellow fear ring?

Bats is to much of an icon for DC to do that with.

I'd love to see an Elseworlds' that deals with this possibility, OTOH.

You should put this in Rumbles.

Your right. But the ring would break free and find a host. But still, that sounds about right.

The ring itself isn't "evil" though is it? No reason that (if he wanted to) Batman could use the yellow ring to inspire fear in his fellow villains...

Ok, I guess I should rephrase the thread because I didn't mean if he just added it to his collections lol...

What if Batman USED the Yellow fear ring to gain power.

I came up with some cool uses.

Energy bats - Able to produce yellow energy bats that can do different tasks. Swarm an enemy. Single bats to track an enemy or scout different areas (I guess somehow Batman could see through its eyes or have a telepathic link). They could also act as batarangs which would allow Batman to telekenetically steer them with his mind. They could also deflect shots or act as decoys. Basically a bat could be produced to take bullets or intercept attacks.

Flight - nowhere near superman speeds but the ability to hover or fly at slower speeds.

Anti-Gravity - Ability to focus energy to boots to walk/run up walls and upside-down on ceilings. Yeah it could be seen as redundant with the flight ability but it would probably allow for more agility and speed than flight during fights and also Batman perched upside-down in a vampire-esque way is a cool image.

Slightly increased speed, strength, and defenses (energy shield) - nuff said.

Grappling "beam" - basically a yellow energy beam that pulls Batman toward target. The beam could be manipulated through TK and could also be "rope" like, or have offensive capabilities.

i agree. I don't see why one choice of ring would necessarily make one the good side (green) and one the bad side, fear in yellow. That goes for all the colors. But I think that's how DC has always played it, so..them's seems to be the rules.

Batman probably wouldn't use it much because he the glowing yellow light wouldn't prove stealthy enough. He'd probably stuff it in his Sci-Fi closet and pull it only in desperate emergecies...

The yellow power ring definitely doesn't cause its wearers to behave in an evil manner, nor does it require that its wearer be evil to operate it. Guy Gardner wore a yellow power ring for sometime, and he wasn't evil (utterly reckless and somewhat ruthless, perhaps, but not evil).

This makes me wonder if Batman would have some extra prowess over weilding the ring because he has allready been using fear as a weapon without it. Basically he would have more innate experience than other wielders.

oh, thanks for the info BA! :) So, I guess to join, you just have to agree to act like a team member and follow the general discourse of the current leader maybe? (for each ring team)

Did we see this happen or is it just spoken of in Sinestro corps?

I'd say the same things that happened when he used a GL power ring (I can't remember exactly what happened... I think he could fly and shoot energy batterangs or something).

It actually happens in a GL issue, I believe. I know it happens, I can picture it in my head, but I am not sure which issue.

What if he had accepted the ring? The DCU would have exploded in a fit of awesomeness.

The Batman knew the right thing to do was not to wear the ring...you know, for the world's sake.

Just to point out.... Batman didn't refuse the ring, the ring refused Batman because of his 'contamination' by a GL ring (see picture in the post above mine.)

I thought Batman's 'what the hell?" responce to his encounter with a Sinestro Corps ring was priceless, though.
