So in current continuity we have Batman faceing the Joker in Detective Comics, and Countdown the Jokers locked up in archam, could just be a continuity error, but with Dini being the head writer for countdown and the writer of Detective Comics it is a bit of a screw up, is there a chance there could be more to this?

I don't think his appearance in Detective comics is an error as we don't know when it happens so it's likely to happen before Countdown/Morrison's story. I haven't read the 2nd part of the Zatanna story yet but I'm assuming the Joker ends up running away again. If so then this fits in with Morrison's story where the Joker is running loose and then captured by Batman and sent to Arkham and has surgery on his face.
This doesn't explain how the incarcerated Joker in Countdown doesn't have the scarred smile though.

I'm praying they just forget the scarred smile thing.

Not everything in DC is happening at the same time.

im sure that is the case, just pointing out something i noticed, the jokers seems to have an important role in countdown so i figured anythings possible with the multiverse.

Couldn't the events of Detective comics be what led to the Joker being put into Arkham? Maybe not, just a theory.

Recent Detective Comics issue = Joker is taken away ad presumably put back in the Asylum.
Morrison's Batman issue from last year = Joker captured by Batman after poisoning Gordon and put back in the Asylum
Bit of a joke really.

That kind of thing happens with Joker all the time. I swear it looks like Arkham has just stopped trying altogether with him, and now only show him the way to the door whenever he wants to escape.

anyone have an image of the joker after his surgery on his face? The "scarred smile?" I must be out of it, because I some how missed that. Just wondering what everyone was talking about. Thanks......
