Miller/Aronofsky Question

I heard somewhere that miller or aronofsky wrote a script which was rejected by WB some time ago. Basically it was set in the 70's or 80's, the batmobile was replaced with a moded up cadilac or something, and alfred was replaced by a big fat black bar owner called 'Big Al'. Batman was also far more violent, and it resembled more of a 80's revenge film than a batman story.
Is this true?

Yeah, Miller wrote is and it's called ''Year One'' apparently. Not sure if it's genuine or not but it's really odd. I think Big Al was a mechanic though.
