Whats the situation with this concept in the DCU? Has the New Earth erased this great book's history? How much of the events of the original series actually happened?

They showed up in the Rann-Thanagar War series, but not sure what their status is post that.

Yeah, that was before the New Earth was formed. So far they appeared in Adam Strange, RannThanagar War, Infinity Crisis pre New Earth and Mystery in Space and Omega Men MiniSeries Post New Earth.
It seemed that Vril Dox had new droid army(Adam Strange Mini)and still held members like Captain Comet, Stealth, Strata(Infinity Crisis) I'm not sure in what capacity.
Mystery in Space was wierd they were barely in it, and Comet's dialogue on the subject was vague. I didn't read Omega Men, it hurt my eyes.
The involvement of Phase and Valor is a problem for the original series, that and the Durlan. So what exactly happened???

I beleive Lar Gand/Mon-El/Valor has been written out of their history since he has a new/old origin that's basically the same as his silver age one.

Vril Dox was mentioned in "The Lightning Saga," and he was even noted as having a Legion flight ring. I would say L.E.G.I.O.N. is still out there. How, and from whom, he got that flight ring should prove interesting.

I would live to see LEGION again. Vril Dox 2 was such a magnificent manipulative bastard! I'd really love it if Jim Stalin would be given a run with it, no one does cosmic like Starlin and he's already got a handle on the Captain Comet character. :D

I have been hoping that since all of DC's other space set characters have been getting mini series that LEGION would get a mini sooner or latter too. I am real curious as to what led to LEGION being as it is now. Dox mentioned in one of the other mini series that he was forced to kill his son so I wonder if in the alterered timeline that is what happened instead of just tunring him back into a normal baby.
I would love to see whats up with Stealth, Garv, Stratta, Garyan Bek, Telapath, and all the others.

Its a shame that the LEGION is not gettin the attention that they deserve.

I'd think they'd jsut be really hard to write, as a comic book. I have some of the old DC comics but they were really kinda, bleah, to me. Just imagine the JLA/JSA, but like one thousand! They seem to be doing a decent job with the Green Lanterns for the moment, but I think there are just so many Legionairres, that it would be very hard to write and keep in continuity with the rest of the current DCU.

I'm confused, are we talking about the same thing? we are talking about this:

L.E.G.I.O.N. is a great concept, there are great stories out there. Any talented writer can handle a large cast.

Vril Dox and his new L.E.G.I.O.N. appeared in last year's Omega Men mini. In fact, he plays a vital part in the whole Lady Styx/Cornerstones of Creation mess: he's now a caretaker of one of the cornerstones, but not in the way one might expect. (Best part of the whole series, in my opinion.) As far as the new Dox status quo, it seems that in the new continuity he may have killed Lyrl instead of taking off to raise him properly (May be wrong on that, though. It wasn't exactly a great mini, save Dox's new role.)

You are confusing LSH with L.E.G.I.O.N.

It's nice to read this thread and know that I am not the only L.E.G.I.O.N. fan out there. I miss this "team" like crazy! These were the BEST comics ever!
