I think Lady Shiva might be one. I dimly recall some Batman tale from back in the 90's, in which it mentioned that she hired herself out as an assassin to fund her studies into the spiritual side of the martial arts.

Also, I (equally dimly) remember a story from Showcase, also back in the 90's, involving her and Shadow Dragon (a sort of tech-based ninja guy).

At one point, SD's tailing her, using the technology in his super-suit to render himself totally invisible, but she still senses his presence. He's a pretty stealthy guy; it was implied that Shiva didn't hear him or catch his scent, rather that she picked up on his hostile intention, his disturbance of her ki...
