Proof I'll never be anything but a comic geek: My wife and I went to see our first ballet this week-- Swan Lake at the Met-- and I can't say I liked how storytelling and narrative took a backseat to choreography and I had to read a synopsis to understand it, but I really got into things after the intermission...
Odette, the white-wearing swan-girl, was replaced by Odile, the black-wearing seductress. Both characters are played by the same ballerina and the costumes were identical except for the color! My first reaction was to think of Mary Marvel (and later, to explain it to my wife, Spider-Man and Venom).
Well, I thought it was cool. Here are some pictures that capture the transformation: http://www.ballerinagallery.com/bessmertnova/swanlake.htm
