I know Photoshop is the standard for coloring but has anyone had any luck with some of the cheaper/free alternatives? How about for lettering and page layout. I don't mind spending a little money but at the moment this is still a hobby and photoshop prices are murder. any pros or cons from alternatives is appriciated. Or if photoshop is the way to go, I would like that feedback too as well.
Thanks

http://www.scribus.net/
It has versions for all operating systems. I'm going to play with it myself see how it is.
