So at the end of WWH who all thinks that Ironman will kick the bucket? I my self wouldn't really mind because i really want him to get taken down a peg or two. Plus storywise it would mean that Marvel superheroes would have to go into next years big summer crossover leaderless

It is rather obvious that Iron Man will not die, since She-Hulk #19 takes place post-WWH.

noooo.
It would be dumb for marvel to kill off Cap, then Iron Man.

There are countless reasons he won't.
A) It would be a stupid move by Marvel which does not benefit THIS story and only prevents future stories with this character
B) There is no way his book can survive without him unlike Cap so they would be forfeiting a book which is at a current high
C) We've seen solicits for books after World War Hulk. Iron Man's fine
D) He's currently the basic figurehead of the marvel universe and appearing EVERYWHERE. They won't kill him now.
E) They've already lost Captain America which makes any other major deaths very unlikelu.
So basically... he's not dying. :D

He was mentioned in the latest issue of She-Hulk, which takes place after WWH. He'll live through WWH. Although he will be getting beaten up a lot. :D

IronMan Hate. heh.
I've hated him ever since CW (never really liked him before that..).
I would seriously like to see him beaten up to the point where he's eating though a straw for a large number of issues. :p
No he won't die, as Iron Man #21 will have Tony back as the director of SHIELD.

I know that he won't die, but I really can't stand him, so I hope that he gets the crap beat out of him a few times during WWH.

Hulk wont kill IM, Hulk wont kill any illuminati. He will eventually find out that the Skrulls were behind the bomb on the ship that took the lives of his new planet/wife/child. Then he will end his rampage.

He has a movie coming out next year, of course he won't die.

The movie is what has me worried. Since he does have a movie coming out, I think Marvel is going to take active steps to make Tony more likable and popular before the movie comes out, even if they don't make sense plot-wise. I know people aren't taking the Tony is a skrull theory seriously, but don't be surprised if something stupid and ridiculous that negates everything does happen.

Actually as I discussed in a thread in the Avengers forum, most people agree that Tony is being portrayed in a much more positive light these days, which is probably already part of a giant shift before the movie. (And will last until Thor #3). Hell even IGN, who called Tony villain of the year for 2006, say he's being redeemed and a hero again now.

You mean like how Captain America has a movie in the works, or how Jean Gray's coming back just in time for X3
i don't like it when they kill people. it's pointless. you know they're coming back, when they die, they have to come up with some "how" for them to come back. killing tony would be a bad move.

Then again, movie versions of characters tend to be more close to Ultimate version of the characters rather than classic versions. Now that I think about it, Ultimate Iron Man is still pretty popular. Not to mention Captain America and Jean Grey.

I doubt Iron Man is going to face Magneto anytime soon. Magneto's "return" will be limited to the X-Men books, most likely.
Iron Man absolutely won't die in WWH or anywhere else anytime soon. After all, he has to be around for whatever major story-arc they have planned to coincide with his movie launch. And I already have my pet theory as to what that will be:
"Stark for President in '08!"

Maybe...maybe not. His initial return will end up in Uncanny #500 but he'll be making the rounds when his movie comes out.

He won't die, but he's already dead to me.
[/hyperbole]
But yeah, considering his upcoming movie, and all said publicity shifts, I sincerely doubt he'll die. Would I like to see him die? Eh, I often say so, but it's just a gag. Killing him off would be the easy way out his actions. I'd rather see him suffer or hit the bottles again, or something.

"In the works" as opposed to "Next Year" and I'm pretty sure X3 was not "Jean Grey: The Movie"

"In the works" isn't quite the same thing as "coming out next year".
Nor is Jean Grey as important to the X-Men franchise as Iron Man is to the Iron Man franchise.

As much as I would love it if they either put him to rest or admitted he was a villain, he'll live and all his transgressions will be swept under the table for the movie.

I don't like much of what has happened in Marvel in the last year or so. It's not been presented very well and is all over the place.
But here's the problem: They wouldn't license people (or whatever) who have super powers, they would OUTLAW them.

Yeah, and then he'll recuperate and beat them all back one by one.
If Wolverine is good in killing, Iron Man is good in another thing: Payback the day after. This should be a primer for all Marvel Writers that Iron Man will eventually win unless he gets swayed to alcohol, money or girls.

Of course Iron Man isn't going to die. But I wouldn't be surprised that, in the wake of World War Hulk, he'll have to testify before a congressional subcommittee to answer for how he handled the Hulk to begin with--not to mention other things--to decide whether or not he's still qualified to be Director of SHIELD. After all, I'd imagine that a lot of folks weren't particularly happy that the leader of an organization that's supposed to enforce the registration of superhumans happens to be one himself, so World War Hulk would be the perfect excuse they need (not to mention that, if the Skrulls have infiltrated levels of the US government it's a way to take Tony Stark out of the picture).

Marvel wouldn't play the death card on one of their heavy hitters again, not after CW.
Marvel wouldn't play the death card on one of their heavy hitters again, not after CW.
They play the generic death card on a moderate (B-C-listers) like once every other month, minimum. With the insanely hellacious body count they've been racking up this decade, I expect no less that two more major deaths by 2010. Three, most likely because one will probably be a repeat.

The sad thing is they killed Cap. Spider-man is about to be cancelled. Speedball..... what they do to Speedball?
And there's no new characters to replace these three guys. OK, maybe Speedball isn't much, but he was Speedball.
No, Iron Man stays in schizoid good/bad fashion.

Yeah, if the Government wants control over the heroes, they definitely won't like a bunch of them playing God over the events in the MU. Is the President the head honcho of the Illuminati now?

I don't think that they can kill off Iron Man. They can't kill off two of their most well known characters in the same year. I think that it would really hurt Marvel because you know there was already such an uproar about killing Cap. I know that a lot of people would rather see Iron Man dead than Cap but I just don't see how they could leave both characters dead and would end up pissing even more people off when they bring them back.

They Definitely can't kill Iron Man because he is one of the most well know and Pioneer characters in the Marvel Universe. Unlike Captain America(I'm pretty sure Captain America is only dead for the time being) their is only one Tony Stark Therefore Their is only one Iron Man. Also it wouldn't make any sense killing Iron Man when his movie is being released next year. World War Hulk will definitely change Iron Man for better or worse we don't know yet. Civil War then this boy they are really putting Stark through the ringer huh ?

I don't think that they will kill Iron Man off at the end of WWH, but that's not saying they won't do it. They might kill him, or they might have Tony "redeem" himself somehow, someway for all the actions that he's taken thus far. He's become so "hated" by more than half the population, and every action he takes (although he believes he's doing it for the greater good) nowadays has caused great conflicts. When will it stop? What is Tony's ultimate goal? I think there's a lot more questions for Tony to own up to than for them to kill him off at the end of this. However, I won't say they will or won't. I just don't think they will. But Marvel has been throwing curveballs recently....so one never truly knows until it does or doesn't happen.

I recently went through the top 100 in the last 4 years of previews.(I have no idea why i don't throw them away). Cap has with the exception of maybe 2 or so months held a decent lead over iron man. It was usually in the bottom of the top 50 while Iron Man was in the mid 50 to 100. Cap has now hit the number 1 spot with his death and marvel is dominating the market. With all that said i really could not tell you who is safe. You know they must be thinking how to do it again.

No, the real reason that Iron Man won't die is because Marvel knows that I'd stop spending a zillion dollars a year on my Iron Man collection, thus putting them out of business.
