Pardon me, for asking a rather a silly question.

Since it's all about Action.

One particular hero was left off the Secret Origin's section of 52(or maybe I'm not remembering to well) from week's 12 through 52. Many had thought it would appear at the end of 52, but weeks 50 and 52 were blank.

Since Countdown is mainly focusing on Villian's Secret Origins. It was rather strange seeing how DC's most famous character wasn't shown. Since Wonder Woman and Batman's Secret Origins were listed.

It's been very vague and left to interpretation at the moment of what's Superman's Secret Origin's are at the moment.

How would you have wrote the 2 page Secret Origin's of Superman in 52 knowing what you know now?

or was it best left leaving out Superman's Secret Origin's in 52(considering Clark really wasn't Superman the entire year)?

I think it was left out because a lot of it was covered in the annual and the last issue of action. They've touched on what it was like on krypton and parts of superman's childhood and probably more in depth than they could have done in 52. Unlike batman, more time was needed to explore superman's past so they could add new allies and villians to his supporting cast (zod and co, mon el)

Here's the thing about the DCU post-Infinte Crisis -- I think they're making all this up as they go along. Back when 52 was going on, DC probably still hadn't decided which stuff they wanted to use from "Man of Steel" and "Birthright."

And they still haven't. IIRC, in the latest "Ask Matt Forum" someone asked him about the origin of New Earth's Superman (i.e., Birthright and Man Of Steel). Matt said he couldn't give an answer yet.

He also said (in yet another of those forums) that they'd deal with it through the monthlies.

In another occasion, someone else asked the very same question that is the purpose of this thread. Mark Waid answered something among the lines of "I don't know. Just another one of the proposals I wrote that wasn't used".

Is explaining the origins of their FLAGSHIP CHARACTER - not to mention the WORLD'S FIRST AND GREATEST SUPERHERO - too difficult?

I just hope they haven't done it yet because they are planning this very carefully, and not because they don't know what to do.

Seems everytime they try to mimic the movies or TV show they manage to throw a different spin on it.

They should keep it simple and move on.
