View Full Version : What character do you NOT want to see appear in Annihilation: Conquest

With the minis coming up and the main event later this year, message broads can barely contain the joy (well....... yeah..) with talks of heroes and villains, all trying to guess what is going to happen and who is going to show. Especially who is going to show; with so many great characters to choose from it must be hard for Marvel to decide who isn't going to show. Sometimes. Other times there are characters no one loves, characters whose names have been known to cause illness, disgust, and a liking for "classic" Vanilla Ice. They are out there, and they may just end up in our next little space epic. So what character, if any, do you NOT want to see?
And don't say Phyla. :p

Iron Man or any of the other Earth heroes like the New and Mighty Avengers, X-men, F4, Spidey, ect . . . .
It's not they're not cool enough to join in but this is thier (Nova's, Phyla's, Ronan's, ect.) fight.

Frankly, not crazy about Adam Warlock. Always found him overrated. He'll probably be showing up, though.

I think after missing the first Annihilation, Adam has to show up and do something. Unless I am mistaken, there hasn't been a major crossover featuring him in many years...

I'd personally rather not see Warlock. There's just something about the character, has his particular brand of cosmic Marvel that I just don't jell with.

Definately no Earth heroes and definately none of the abstracts gods like the Elders, Order and Chaos, Eternity, etc. But one day I'd like to see Nova come across the Celestials...and also one day get the definative history of Xandar and the origins of the Nova Force into print.

For my own bit, I don't want to see Drax or Cammie show up. Drax because I think he had his moment, and because I want to see Quasar and Nova handle this without him. Cammie, because I don't she fits in with the Phalanx.

I don't wanna see Drax or Thanos. Yeah, I know Thanos is dead, but how often has that ever stuck? I'm just sick of see Thanos in every large Marvel cosmic event. And Drax, his mission was to destroy Thanos. Now that that's done and over with, what else does he have to do?

Leave out all the cosmic gods like Eternity, Galactus, Master Order/Lord Chaos etc.
I vote for no on Adam Warlock in this one. He's too much of Deus Ex Machina for my taste.
I'd also prefer it if the shi'ar don't do anything in this one as well.
And of course, no earth-based heroes.

Any earth hero unless they have solid cosmic ties ala Nova.

He's in every Earthbound series as it is, thank god the Phallanx put the force field around Kree Space, that's the only way to keep Stark out of the title.

Also I'd like not to see Destiny show up

I do not want to see Adam Warlock, he can stay where ever he is at and rot, as far as I'm concerned. I never liked him and never will.

So . . . your perfect CONQUEST is twenty-odd issues of Wendell and Rich having a one-on-one chat in the middle of a barren, featureless wasteland?

I concur on all bases, especially earth-based heroes (see: Iron Man) and Shi'ar, but replace Adam Warlock with Wendell Vaughn and Captain Marvel, as I wouldn't really mind if He showed up. It's been a while since we've last seen ol' Goldilocks.

Planets are not characters. Hush, Ego! You too, Mogo! So we're not limited to a barren wasteland.
I can see it now - Quasar and Nova - the heroes AND the villains of Annihilation Conquest. Watch them team up to defeat a multidimensional invasion of their counterparts. Marvel at their searching nearby dimensions for the source of the invasion as you see all your favorite What If versions of our heroes, including Sphinx's Egyptian World Nova and Atlantis Attacks Captain Universe Quasar. Eventually, they find the true source of the threat, a world where humans evolved into parallels of the Arthrosian Spore creature - you guessed it - Annihilus versions of our heroes. Can they defeat opponents with all their own abilities, and those of Annihilus to boot?
Buy the issues and find out!
Or something like that. I'm not serious about the above pitch, other people can show up in Annihilation Conquest, but in the end any issue without the two of them would be a waste to me.

Warlock and Thanos. I second whoever said they're 'too big' for events like these.
Whenever they show up, a story almost instantly becomes All About Them.

I agree on this and on Warlock. Could also enjoy it without the major godlike galatic powers, but it is ok if some of them are there.

There is too much hate for Adam Warlock in this thread.
Don't hate him because he's better than the rest of the characters in Annihilation.

Man, people, come on. Stop hating on Adam.
It's not his fault he's a bigger name by leaps and bounds than anyone in Annihilation. I mean,a fter all he's been through, this probably doesn't even matter to him.
Best leave it up to the less-interesting characters.
