Has a 'Captain America Week' been proposed?

hey folks,

I was born of the fourth of July....When I was a kid, I used to think the fireworks were for me. So, like all Fourth of July babies, I learned about America early because when you realize your birthday is your country's, you start to investigate.

Now, I am not particularly patriotic; I tend to be left of center but open to all political ideas under the sun as I have studied political philosophy and politics all of my life and was a political science minor in college. Anyway, Cap is easily one of the best examples of the best that this particular country embodies.

I love Brubaker's run and have been re-reading Kirby era Cap and other issues. Being as this upcoming week is the week of the fourth, why not a Captain America week? I really dug the Hawkeye week and hey, the hero deserves that doesn't he?

Has a week been proposed? What do you all think?

I think that Cap doese deserve his own week. I mean, he is a hero. If Hawkeye gets one, Cap should definately get one.

Over on the avengers board, there was a Cap week shortly after he was killed.
I'm not opposed to another week dedicated to the man, though, Thor rest his soul...

Why not next week, with the 4th of July seems the most appropriate for the ultimate american icon.

Cool! If folks are into it, we'll do the avatar thing, the best cover thing and favorite stories. I'll post a few threads for Cap week and hope others do the same!

I think a Thor week would be cool too as well as others (and so on and so on...)

If you're going to do it, talk to Mattbib about doing it on the Avengers board. I'd just end up tossing the threads his way, anyway.

The reason why Hawkeye got his own week was because he was voted on in a weekly poll on the Avengers board and won. I can't recall if Captain America was on the list of options, though...

A Thor week would be cool for the next week because Thor is just returning.
I like the idea for Cap to have his week this week. Has anyone told mattbib about it yet?
