Welcome to X-Crescence, which is from the word excrescence, which is defined as "An outgrowth or enlargement, especially an abnormal one, such as a wart."
Well, this is an outgrowth from the X-Boards proper.
This is where you pretty much can post whatever you want.
Civility rules apply here!
Enjoy.

Oh and the police have found a car bomb in Central London!

I have hypermobile joints (too much space between the joints) so my muscles cramp up rather fast if i push myself too much (which can be anything from playing computer games to sanding a door). It's bloody annoying, not to mention pretty painfull at times. If i push myself despite the pain it might become permanent.
Just pushed myself too far again. But i really hate that i spend 3 times longer on this job than expected, could have lived for almost 3 months on what the work was actually worth ..

That, mixed with the defeat of true, gritty journalism, is a clear sign of the death of democracy.
"The new world order reeks of dying empire odor
and changing the channel wont make that go away.
As the veneer of democracy fades away, as the worlds
down-sized until it explodes, as the shanty-towns piled
behind the malls become visible, as the savages on the
other side of the wall break through, as everybody from
gun-crazy militias to anti-immigrant nazis to fundamentalist
child-raping christians to gangsta rappers to community
activists to working families just struggling to put food
on the table, all mad at the same thing; your SUV; me, me, me;
"mission accomplished"; bring em on;
buy more stuff, buy more stuff,
fight terror, defend freedom so we can buy more stuff.
The false illusion of the world is going down, motherfucker.
Walk off the job. Crime is beautiful.
A prank a day keeps the dog-leash away.
Quit your jobs. Burn down the malls."

Slam-dancing came from hardcore.
Which violently shits on anything by the Slipknot, Limp Bizkit, Korn "moshpit" bands.
Watch the film "American Harcore" or read the book "Our band could be your life: scenes from the American rock underground. 1981-1991" by Michael Azerrad and you'll think much differently about the meaning of slam-dancing.

That's not to common over here, usually if you see the horns you know it's metal or at least rock/hard rock, you won't see people throwin up horns to gangsta rap or pop music.
I've never understood the point of a "rap concert" personally. What the fuck do you do? Just stand there and bobb your head while trying to look smooth? What the fucks the point? Then you got just one fuckin dude on stage with a microphone rappin to a soundtrack... oi-vey.

Well, in Scotland, apparently it's customary to name sons after their fathers and thus people tend to be known bu their middle names.
Gordon is the middle name of James Gordon Brown. So maybe, you could imagine the new PM singing "Get up" and "take me to the bridge..." etc?

Well, in Scotland, apparently it's customary to name sons after their fathers and thus people tend to be known bu their middle names.
Gordon is the middle name of James Gordon Brown. So maybe, you could imagine the new PM singing "Get up" and "take me to the bridge..." etc?
I will imagine him addressing Parliament and saying "It's a man's man's man's world".

Moshing is slam-dancing. Pretty much.
People do it to anything slightly hard. Or so it seems.
To each their own; if one enjoys the music they hear and wanna move to it, more power to 'em!
:)
What is the definition of slam-dancing though? Cause I don't see any dancing going on in a mosh pit.

Like, the hustle is infinitely cooler.
Heh heh.
Pits can be really violent though. And that sucks.
If I'm at a show and some muscle head dumbass knocks ya to the ground my buddies an I will pick you back up. I hate the jock-mentality of violence and groping that is so common at venues these days. It sucks.
I can still go and have a good time though. Ya just have to counter what the jock fucks perpetrate.

Gah... my job fucking sucks. I'm so bored and tonight I'm going to have to sit and make merry at a BBQ with people I don't want to spend time with - work people. Plus, I was at a conference last night and I didn't even drink as I had no desire to sit in there with people I didn't like. I ended up reading the latest Superman/Batman trade which made me even less happy.

It is moshing. It was born in the eighties and christened "slam-dancing".
"Moshing" was simply a name-change that came with a new generation.
That sucks man. There isn't any type of medication they can give you to help out or anything?
Sorry, had to run for a bit. No, can't take medicine (well steroids might work but that's hardly without side-effects). Can't take painkillers either because i need to know how much pain i really have otherwise it's too easy to push myself too far. Swimming helps but with my income being usually just below minimum i can't really afford regular swimming. Kinda sucky ..
Did you lose money cause it took to long to do the job?
I estimated 8-12 hours so that's what my client expects to pay for but i seriously underestimated the time it took, in hindsight it's more like 36 hours .. which would have sustained me for the time it takes to rest my arm, now it's barely 700 euro worth whereas 36 hours would have made me around 2100 .. so i'm a little ticked off.
I might adres the issue with my client despite that not being good business practice but the difference between 2100 and 700 is a little too much, not sure if it will make a difference though ..

I think I would, you put in more time than what you expected, but they'll be getting a better product, so you should at least get some compensation for the added time. Maybe not tripling you fee because they were expecting far less, but still, some extra to cover yourself would be good.

I like some fuckin respect as well, but I know when you go to a metal show, you're gonna get shoved a bit regardless.
Case in point: I went to a Killswitch Engage show in december, while KSE was on stage we got up front, like five rows from the stage. Well, to my front right is this guy with his old lady and every time the crowd shifted and I got pushed into him, the fucker threw an elbow into my ribs, even though I had nothing to do with it! I was just standing there and got shoved, but this fucker keeps giving me dirty looks and throwing elbows when it ain't my goddamn fault.
That's what I mean by stupid fuckers that should know better. It's one thing if someone is being stupid and wrecks your old lady, but if it's just crowd shift and you're doing shit like that, you need your ass beat.
You live in Michigan right?Yup
Do you explore your local punk/underground music scene?
Nah, I don't like punk. Some here and there may catch my attention, but for the most part I don't care for it.

yeah salmon is excellent. I also enjoy swordfish. It's a great chicken substitute.
I however dislike over-fishing :(
which is why I try to buy under-fished, unglamourous fish like mackeral, eel, plaice, etc it's just as tasty!

just be careful, i know china just did a major fish recall, due to contamination. and also you should explore wild versions of fish like wild Alaskan Salmon, which is specifically worked to prevent overfishing.

Chicken can give you salmonella.
Fish FTW! but not that insipid salmon that they sell in Canada. But you can get mercury poisoning from fish if you eat to much. So there's your downside to fish!
good work dude!
I got another run in last night and after 3 weeks, the daily press-ups and sit-ups are definitely having an effect! I just need to find the time to do the weights again! Thanks man!
I'm still hitting the weights 3 times a week and the cardio 5-6 times, I do ab work on a seperate day from the weight training though to shorten work outs.
Yea I'm at about 260lb right now, at 6'3 I've got it spread over a nice tall frame, but damn it has taken about a year and half of doing the right shit to get it looking decent, finally stopped sucking in at the pool. I told Emily soon as says "I do" I can let myself go again.Hahahaha, what a dumbass!
I plan on keeping the weight off for the rest of my life once it's gone, spent to many years as the fat kid. I figure I got 10, 15 lbs. tops until I have a six-pack and low body fat percentile.
why don't you do that experiment for us?How bout no...

I don't know what "food miles" means but I want to stop it. I'm sure there is a wikipedia entry I can read.
food miles is essentially the practice of importing and flying unnecessary amounts of food over the world. But it also breaks down on a local level.
For example, I live in the main agricultural region of the UK and a single potato goes through an unbelievable amount of unnecessary miles to be processed, often going to packing plants, several hundred miles away only to be driven back to supermarkets right near the fields. Whilst its more expensive, I try to buy as much as is possible from farmers markets and stuff and I also try to buy seasonal British produce where possible. When I eventually buy my own place, I want a little vegetable garden where I can grow potatoes, beans, tomatoes etc - I already grow my own herbs.
Apologies for the most boring post of all time... In other news, I love boobs and music with guitars.
