(which actually nobody was, though she does appear in the long list of artists depicted in the new book The Artist Within, as recounted by Scott! in another thread this a.m.)

... am I correct in assuming, from occasional checks of Amazon, ABEbooks & Google, that her "Trots & Bonnie" has never been collected? If so, what a terrible shame. I don't think I've ever read a single issue of National Lampoon, but the occasional T&B I've seen reprinted from its pages are absolute gems.

I don't think it has been collected, though there should be enough material, and since NUTS, Cheech Wizard, and Dirty Duck collections have been published by companies other than Lampoon, I don't think getting rights is a problem.

I met Flenniken at the first convention I ever went to in '74 or '75--although I couldn't legally buy them, i was mainly interested in undergrounds at the time and spent a lot of time bugging her and the rest of the Air Pirates, who were raising support for their legal fight with Disney. I developed such a crush on her...

I found two Trots and Bonnie strips online:

Mmmm... placenta smothered with organic onions. *gag*

If there was ever a DIRTY DUCK collection, it was published without Bobby London's knowledge or approval. I asked him about it this afternoon and he said there's never been such a collection. How unfortunate, especially when you consider that he's been doing a monthly DIRTY DUCK strip for PLAYBOY for thirty years now!

Aloha,

Scott!

er ummm while it may seem disgusting...

I remember as young teen watching my sister's dog gobble down the placenta's of her nine pups as part of the cleaning ritual. Yea it looked disgusting then too. We were going to try to stop her with the first one, when my mom pointed out it was very natural and actually quite healthy for the mommy dog to return all that high protein and blood back into her system. She will need it in the nursing days to come.

And thanks for the pointer to the two strips. Great reminders of a slightly warped but fun strip. I was in high school when those were first published. Interestingly, I was never challenged by the cashiers when I purchased it. I think its cuz I was such a regular cuz-two-mer.

I must've been thinking of the underground, and I can't remember if that included any of the NatLamp strips.
